Hot off the rollers!

The Setup:
2011 Challenger 392/NAG1
226/[email protected]" Camshaft
525 Walbro Pump
FIC 775cc Injectors
ARH 1-7/8" Longtube Header
No X Pipe
FTI 9.5" 3800 Hard Hit
3.91 Gears

Only changes that were made was Pump E85 from E85R and the tuner. Same dyno, worse air, same SAE J1349 correction factor

Blue Line went 10.90@124 with E85R and a different tuner
Pink Line is Pump E85 and yours truly on the keyboard.

Picked 30ft-lbs of torque peak to peak and 20~whp more on average.

Intake Air Temps were around 90º for the pulls.

Ready to see what it will do now!

Got a few messages this weekend asking:
"If you're a tuner, why isn't your truck tuned yet?"

Because I'm methodical. Before I touch the calibration, I want the truck itself as efficient as possible. I like to measure the gains from every change so nothing gets masked by the tune.

A good tune will always make it faster. But stacking small improvements, 2-3 hp here,
5-6 hp there, means the final calibration has a better foundation and the results are even stronger.

Anyone can bolt on the same off-the-shelf parts and run an off-the-shelf tune. Nothing wrong with that. But if you're chasing every last bit of power, the details and the combination matter-and that's where the difference is.

Edit:

Software issues with logging, made a pass, slowed down a little but no idea why. HP Tuners scanner never worked again after that. Tried to make another pass, tree failure and got no time…

Still hit my goal of 8.5X with zero tuning, zero engine mods. Clutch fan still on, stock airbox, stock filter etc etc. So all in all a good night!

But not how we want to spend it.

2015 Jeep GC SRT. In for a “tune” only.

Battery died as it was towed to my shop for tuning as the other shop that installed the cam (they are extremely busy too) and had the PCM out for me to unlock. Not an issue, charge the battery, start tuning.

Wrong.

Two separate aftermarket security modules on this thing. When the battery died one of them locked. I spent 2 days pulling it all out as he didn’t know about them (customer approved work. And yes, I made sure there was no liens on the vehicle) I still have fix the wiring they tapped into.

So please. When you want a “tune” make sure everything is truly tune ready. This is realistically no one’s fault (with the current parties), just a very bad situation.

I have many more pictures of how bad everything really is. But no need to post them, you get the idea.

Parts Show Sunday!

This is the "Upgraded" Cam Kit I offer.

I believe this to be a good investment for your hemi engine. With a majority (if not all) of the parts being made in the USA it supports local economy.

You have a few choices of parts, if you want the normal VVT Lock vs the Smith Innovation cam gear you can still get it. Springs can also vary depending on application.

I do have a few cams in stock, and will be getting more!

Tech Tip Tuesday.

Oxygen sensors. Your EFI engine needs them.

This customer came to me for a tune, and only a tune.

Exhaust was installed by a shop along with a new motor. However NONE of the oxygen sensors were in the exhaust piping. Customer stated, flashing check engine light, poor drivability and poor fuel milage. I agreed to take a look at the vehicle.

After quick code read, a visual observation and a call to the customer to preform the work needed. It now drives a lot better, with better milage and no more check engine lights.
