A little value and gift of knowledge is added towards the bottom of this post - We now have our doors open to Full Detailing services ! From just the average wash to a full blown paint correction to get rid of those swirl marks you see in the sun. It's important during these times that you protect your investment because the salt can eat away at your clear coat and cause damage to the overall paint and look of your car. Not only during winter but every season has an affect towards your vehicle in a negative way.
The proper protection goes a long, even without paint correction, a simple clay bar decontamination removes all the soil glued on your car making it super smooth followed by hand sealant and wax for the upmost protection against the elements.
Summer - Harsh sun tears through your clearcoat if its left outside all summer, especially if you go through a car wash and you don't dry your vehicle. You will have loads of water spots all over and the sun will just leave those water spots on your car. Therefore you would have just wasted your money on a wash and not only that, now you will need a full decontamination to remove those spots.
Fall - Lots of rain and sun will cause watersports to be etched into the clear coat as stated above. Water spots are our cars worst enemy.
Winter - Salt will just tear through the clear coat if left unprotected. Also if you let salt sit for at least 2 days or more, when you get a car wash, the salt will remain on your vehicle despite a wash. Next time you get a car wash and you try to dry your car and if feels rough, then that means your car needs a detail.
Spring - Similar to fall except in spring you will experience the worst of the worst....POLLEN. The most damaging aspect of pollen, is it's acidity. The good news, if there is any, is that pollen needs another element to activate the acidity, and that's water. So when your vehicle is covered with pollen, rain is what will activate the acidic properties which, over time, will damage your vehicle's paint.
