A little modification to the oil filter mount. This engine is going in a 27 fountain and the oil filter was going to hit the forward bulkhead since the engine compartment is so short. So, I had to rotate it 90 degrees to clear everything. Whipped up this bracket on the mill and powdercoated it. Pretty happy with it. Some before, during and after pics.

And this is why you do top.ends on Mercury 525/600/700s etc. Less than 300 hours and it has 4 cracked rocker arms. And this is the Scorpion/Mercury rockers, not the Crane golds. So it's a MUCH beefier rocker arm. The light seat pressure of the springs causes the valve to bounce on the seat and act like a jack hammer on the rockers. This one was VERY close to catastrophe.

We now have custom made 1075 plug wires that are no longer available through Mercury.

Its been a few minutes since we've done a Procharged engine. While this is nothing special, I an very pleased with the results. It was an original 502 Mag with an existing M1 Procharger that was in need of a rebuild and more power. Its now 509 finish a set ilof Brodix Race Rite heads. We obviously change the cam to a larger hyd roller. We pulled spme compression out of it with JE inverted dome pistons and a better set of rods. This was originally a Mefi 1 setup, which has no ability to tune in boost and run a 2 BAR Map sensor. We found a complete intake setup with ecm and harness from a later Mag with a Mefi 3. We ditched the entire Procharger fuel system for something better. I didnt do any port work to the intake as I didnt feel it was needed for the power we were after.
The first dyno attempt didn't go so well. It was breaking up really badly at 4800 or so. Long story short, the intercooler was leaking like a fire hose. Procharger wanted 2k for a replacement and didn't have it. So, we went another route. We got a slightly larger core that we'll remote mount in the boat. We've done it numerous times in the past and it's worked great.
When it was all done, the engine made 775 hp and just shy of 800.ft lbs with just a tick over 6 psi boost. As I said, I was pleased with the results for something so simple. I'll still take a Whipple 100 out of 100 times.

Well, this is a first for us...putting IMCO Powerflow Plus manifolds and risers on a 525. I had to drill the standard bolt pattern in the heads first. Then it took some doing to get the coolant tank to clear them. We got it done though. They actually look better than i thought they would.

Just put these 2 700s on a plane for Saudi Arabia and then on to Bahrain. Wrapped them up on the dyno, tucked them into some crates and sent them on their way. Its pretty cool getting to deal with people from all over the world.
