A personal note from Jeff
For the past seven years, I’ve served as both Track Operator and President of the Moses Lake BMX Association. I’m proud of what we’ve built together—the track improvements, the friendships, and especially watching kids go from nervous first laps to confident racers.
I love this place. I also need to make more room for my family and bring my volunteer workload back to a healthier level.
My plan is to step down as Track Operator after our state race in 2027. I’ll be running for re-election as President, and if elected, I intend to continue supporting the track in that role while handing over day-to-day track operations.
I’m sharing this now because I want to give that handoff the time and attention it deserves. Between now and next year’s state race, I want to train a team of three Track Operators in Training—people who can learn alongside me, build confidence, and share the responsibility.
You don’t need to arrive knowing how to run a BMX track. You need a willingness to learn, follow through, and work with others. We’ll work through race operations, track preparation, maintenance, and coordinating the volunteers who make it all happen.
The goal is to build a team that can share the work, support one another, and keep Moses Lake BMX healthy for years to come. Nobody should have to take on everything I’ve been carrying.
I’m not disappearing after the state race. I want to stay involved, enjoy the community we’ve built, and help our next leaders succeed. But I do need to hand over the Track Operator responsibilities and reclaim more time with my family.
If you’ve ever thought, “I’d like to help, but I wouldn’t know where to start,” please talk with me. We can discuss what the role involves, what time you can realistically give, and where you might fit.
Message the track page or catch me at the track. You don’t have to commit before asking questions.
Thank you to everyone who has helped build this place over the past seven years. I’m excited to see what we can do with more people sharing the work and bringing their own ideas.
