Tom and his family spent the past month out west with their Ram Power Wagon and Jeep Wrangler JLU Rubicon on several backcountry trails. Dodging rain, a monsoon in Phoenix, forest fires in several areas and smoke from those fires.
Their adventure took them through the following routes:
- Mogollon Rim: Starting near Show Low, AZ, and heading west.
- Arizona BDR: East of Flagstaff, running north and then west of the city.
- Arizona Adventure Trail: From Phoenix to the northeast side of Flagstaff.
During the trip, they also visited several sites, including:
- Sunset Crater National Monument (lava flow fields)
- Cinders OHV
- Wupatki National Monument
- Walnut Canyon National Monument
- Montezuma Castle National Monument
Wildlife they encountered:
- Elk (Bull and Cow) traversed the trails in front of us several times at higher elevations.
- Deer
- Pronghorn
- Coyote
- Rabbits
- Turkeys that were huge
- Hawks and various birds
- A pack of feral hogs
- A rattlesnake was heard, but not seen
Be sure to ask Tom about his trip the next time you stop in or call!
