Perras Auto is growing. We are looking for a senior level Technician/Mechanic, to work in a very busy automotive shop. Technicians will do everything from oil changes, suspension repairs, exhaust, and more.
Technicians will do something different each day and see a wide variety of vehicles and have the opportunity to learn new skills to advance their career. We have a loyal customer base that was built on quality work and exceptional customer service. We have new equipment and lots of resources. We work Monday through Thursday (Fridays off during the summer) Fridays and ½ days on Saturday during the fall tire season.
Immediate Position Available Vermont State Inspection certificate would be a plus. Hire would have to be knowledgeable in computers and scan tool functions for working on today’s vehicles.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Test-drive, diagnose and repair vehicles using diagnostic tools and special service equipment and resources.
• Perform service operations that may include inspecting, diagnosing and completing repairs/replacements of automotive parts and accessories. These operations may include ignition systems, drivability issues, batteries, engine cooling systems, steering, suspension and alignment, exhaust, brakes and general preventative maintenance
• Perform multi-point inspections on every vehicle, each and every time.
• Perform routine vehicle tune-ups, and alignments or work specified on the repair order and document labor time
• Properly document customer service record with updated information on work performed and/or recommended.
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding needed repairs ensuring they understand service recommendations and are at ease with services to be performed
• Communicate directly with customers so they can be informed of any additional service required
• Prepare estimates of parts and time needed for additional repairs
• Communicate service requirements and time expectations with scheduling staff to ensure a quality customer experience
• Maintain professional appearance at all times.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Must be able to physically perform the duties associated with the position. Must drive a variety of passenger vehicles including manual transmission vehicles.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience as an automotive technician, mechanic, or other related fields
• Knowledge of diagnostic and repair equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Deadline and detail-oriented
• Valid and clean driver's license.
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
• Proficiency in the use of common shop tools.
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Excellent customer service skills basic computer and internet literacy
• High school diploma or equivalent,

Schedule:
• Monday to Thursday (during the summer) Monday-Friday in busy season
• 8-10 hour shifts depending on what YOU want to work
• Overtime

Other Duties:
• Read manufacturer's drawings and manuals
• Operate a variety of hand, power, and shop tools
• Keep shop clean and equipment operating (maintain, troubleshoot, repair, etc.)
