I’ve waited to post this because I wanted to find the right words.

Last week, I received the heartbreaking news that my friend, Leo Basile, passed away in a tragic helicopter accident. Leo was the pilot, and anyone who knew him knew how much he loved to fly. He was an exceptional pilot, but more importantly, he was an exceptional person.

Leo was someone I looked up to immensely and someone who had a lasting impact on both my life and my business.

He believed in me and helped open the door to the aviation side of my business. His encouragement, knowledge, and willingness to help meant more than I can put into words.
Leo also had a huge impact on Kaden—from giving him his very first helicopter ride as a little boy to the conversations that helped Kaden make the decision to commit to Glenville. Knowing Leo was staying in Glenville for work gave us peace of mind because he promised he’d keep an eye on Kaden and be someone he could count on if he ever needed anything as he starts his freshman year in August.

That speaks to the kind of man Leo was. He genuinely cared about people and was always willing to help however he could.

Thank you, Leo, for your friendship, your mentorship, and the example you set. You made a difference in our lives, and we will always be grateful for the time we had with you.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your daughter, family, friends, Waco Oil & Gas and to everyone who had the privilege of knowing you. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Fly high my friend! God bless!
