While there a ton of installers out there who can swap a bilge pump or install a couple lights, when you are considering a full electronics package, battery layout changes, full boat rewires, lithium upgrades, etc… Make sure you hire a reputable shop, with certified techs. There are far too many “red and black, 12volt is so easy” outfits, not just in our local area, but along the entire east coast. We see it time and time again; lots of money spent, lots of work done incorrectly, wires to small, networks not built properly, battery banks not isolated, and the list goes on… But ultimately, things fail, and the system doesn’t address the customers initial concerns.
Our projects always start with YOU, and we keep that focus throughout. We take the time to understand what you want, why you want it that way, and offer suggestions and alternatives when needed, but try really hard to not be salesman and sell you something you don’t need. Once the scope is understood, we then spend a considerable amount of time up front planning, reviewing the existing setup, and weighing different options, all while keeping the systems reliability and ease of use for you, top priority.
While we aren’t putting highly technical documents together like the guys Boats | Wiring | Diagrams, we start on the boat with scratch paper and photos, we move to the white board in the office, and ultimately end up with a line drawing like shown here. Many hours of work up to this point, still a few details to finalize, but this allows the actual work to move forward more efficiently, without daily mid-project issues, questions and driving around town searching for parts.
We’d love to help with your next project, large or small, and you can be sure it’s done right, and every decision is made with you in mind.
