Mora Skijoring Race Mora Skijoring Races are January 14, 2024. 5 and 10 kilometer course maps will be posted before the event and are dependent upon snow conditions.

Registration can be found at moraskiclub.org. The Mora Skijoring Race is a registered IFSS World Cup event in Mora, Minnesota. The races are run on the Vasaloppet Nordic Center ski trails. This event offers both 10 kilometer and 5 kilometer courses and is scheduled for January 8, 2023. Courses will vary as snow and trail conditions allow. Mora Skijoring Race has been cancelled for 2024. The skiable trail at the Vasaloppet Nordic Center is less than a kilometer. It is a great loop on a year with no snow! But, it is not a safe loop for skijoring. With little snow in the forecast we are unable to provide a safe course for our racers.

Mora Skijoring Race 2024:
With two weeks to go, we still have absolutely no snow on the ground. Our trails are wet in spots, and there is no measurable snow in the forecast. The temps are predicted to hover around freezing.
We will wait to make an announcement regarding the races until January 7. In order to safely have a skijoring race we are going to need a lot of snow and some time to groom a course. We will keep our fingers crossed! Thanks to our wonderful volunteers and racers-we appreciate your patience! We love race day and will be so disappointed if we are not able to put on a race.

Our Story

The Mora Skijoring Race is a registered IFSS World Cup event in Mora, Minnesota. The races are a part of the events taking place on Vasaloppet Sunday including Fat Tire races, the Mora Miniloppet and Swedish kicksled races. The skijor races begin on Lake Mora, loop through the rolling, wooded Vasaloppet ski trails and finish downtown. This event offers both 10 kilometer and 4 kilometer courses and is scheduled for February 10, 2019.

Registration, packet pickup and the awards ceremony are all held in the heated celebration tent downtown Mora. The tent is open to participants both before and after the races.
