Look and listen for the following warning signs that your brakes need to be inspected:

- Low Pedal: does the brake pedal almost touch the floor before engaging?

- Hard Pedal: are you applying extreme pressure to the pedal before brakes engage.

Continuing our commitment to making a difference in our Fargo-Moorhead community.

Here at the Ministry we are limited with what we can do. Although we can operate, the CDC social distancing recommendations have stopped our volunteer workdays and with the DMV closures we cannot transfer titles to give cars away.

We are committed to our mission of solving the transportation issues of the most in-need in our community and have been continuing to chip away repairing cars but at a slower pace.

We wanted to share two recent repair stories with you. These stories are just as impactful as the donated car stories and show how much your support impacts those who are struggling with their transportation.

Missed Appointments
A lady working with Lakes & Prairies Head Start with many health issues was dealing with a poorly running vehicle. A rough week saw her vehicle only operate in "limp mode" and she was pulled over by police because of inoperable headlights, even after a friend had recently replaced both bulbs.

Her vehicle issues were keeping her from her weekly mental health therapy appointments and causing incredible stress.

We brought her vehicle in and found out the PCM was failing. We installed and programmed a new one and the vehicle runs fantastic.

We also found that her wires for her headlight bulb harnesses were melted and kept burning out her bulbs. We replaced both harness and bulbs and now her headlights are fully operational. We also changed her oil.

Misdiagnosis
A gentleman working with Presentation Partners in Housing had a no start situation in a local Walmart parking lot. He has been working hard at his job and hopefully will achieve his goal of going into business for himself one day.

He was told his alternator needed replacing along with a new battery. The problem still persisted after they were replaced. After burning up a lot of his saved money with no results he needed some help so he could continue to make it to work and his very important recovery meetings.

He brought his car in to us and we found out that his starter was the issue. With a new starter and fresh fluids, the gentlemen can now keep moving forward! Awesome!
