The Effingham County K-9 SAR is a small volunteer special operations team that assist both locally and throughout the state. We operate through a very limited budget from the Eff. County, United Way issued funds, and small grants. Our current struggle/situation is the only response vehicle we have may have to be decommissioned due to a major mechanical issue. The age of the vehicle and the expense to get it repaired is just not feasible. This vehicle (1998 Chevy Tahoe) was donated to us eight years ago. We are now in search of a full-sized SUV with a V-8 engine, due to the fact we frequently pull an enclosed 18' command trailer with all our supplies in it.
A donated vehicle (a TAX DEDUCTION, due to the fact we are a non for profit organization) of this type or a very reasonably priced/dependable one would greatly appreciated. Higher mileage not really a concern, but dependability is as we will be using this vehicle in emergency situations. We would like to thank everyone who spent ther Memorial Weekend with us. Whether you spent 1,2,3 or even 4 days we hope you had a good time. Thank You to all the past & present service men & woman, without them we would not be able to do something as American as racing a dirt bike. It was a hot one. The old FLY Water Truck got a workout , along with swimming holes at the creek. LTM will be slowing down the MX Racing in June. This weekend we are having Prep Practice on the Bomber Sunday 10 til 4 for bikes. This will be the last one for a week or 2,as the FLY Water Truck is going in for repairs.
