You know what’s really annoying, when you F’ up mounting brakes. There was definitely a truck in my early days that I fu**ed up. Used some off the shelf s**t working with a budget. Ended up having issues. Maybe it was my fault for quoting it to do it within that budget and that manner but it wasn’t right. It was some 1/4” 4130 bracket you buy at kartek. I’ve definitely learned my lesson. Nowadays, we are fortunate enough to have the clients to have budgets to be able to do things to absolute perfect perfection. Or at least to the best of my ability🤷🏻♂️.
This is an example, Keiths pre-Runner worked great when I drove it, but due to some old motocross injuries and other reasons, he wanted the truck to be much easier for him to stop, and if you know, manual brakes and big heavy vehicles with big tires, it’s not like you have everything going for you. The decision was made to work with on some new stuff they’re coming out with.
We are very fortunate to work with Quinton over there and have him and his team take care of us and set us up with some bad ass stopping hardware.
It led to a complete redesign of his brake master cylinder assembly and pedal, as well as doing brackets in a certain manner that Alcon requested, which were big thick boys. Obviously fixtures are in order as we do with all our set ups nowadays, so these are what I came up with for the Alcon stuff and the finished product!
What do you guys think?! #4130
