Customer complaint: furnace won’t work! The burner head and gas or***ce were completely clogged with rust; almost as if it had had water sitting in it. This was a 2021 Thor Challenger motorhome……..weird to have that kind of issue on an otherwise late model clean coach.

So, the other day we were called out to an rv that customer complained the lights in the living room slide wouldn’t work and the fuse would blow. Also, the main breaker would trip when plugged into shore power. Incidentally, the customer stated they got it back from Indiana where the manufacturer had replaced the slide wall because of bulging. We weren’t sure if the two were related but we had our suspicions. As you can see in the pic, the 12/2 romex has staples. And, you can see there was a screw from the bracket that holds the slide topper that went right through the 12vdc wiring that powers the lights. Anyway, the coach manufacturer told the customer they would come pick up the rv and take it back for repairs…..good on them!

Customer complaint: water lines might have frozen and busted. Not busted in fact, but chewed through maybe by a rat, not really sure. There were no pieces to be found. Made the necessary repairs, no more leaks.

At Mountain Top RV park the other day, customer complained that the furnace would not stay lit. Removed and bench tested to find that when she tried to replace the fan blade it was rubbing on plastic cover and not allowing the fan to stay up to proper speed. The fan motor is 12v and needs to reach 75% speed before sail switch will close. It must have been fluttering causing intermittent igniting.

Called out for a water heater that works on gas but not electric. The problem was 120vac wire had come in contact with the metal cover on the back of the WH and burned out the terminal on the thermostat. Customer had noticed a burning electrical smell !😳
