🚨 COMMUNITY INTEREST CHECK 🚨

The Monroe Police Department is considering implementing a new automated wellness check program for senior residents within the City of Monroe.

The proposed program would provide daily automated check-in calls to residents who:
• Live within the Monroe city limits
• Are 63 years of age or older
• Live alone

If the system is unable to make contact after a check-in call, Monroe Police Department personnel would be notified to conduct a welfare check.

At this time, we are simply gauging community interest to see how many residents may be interested in participating if the program moves forward.

Proud they are going to slow this town down. You can’t get out of our parking lot for so many people driving fast. Using turning lanes to pass people.

⚠️ SLOW MONROE STARTS JUNE 1 ⚠️

The Monroe Police Department has received multiple complaints about speeding throughout the downtown corridor. Radar speed signs have already been placed in the area to remind drivers to slow down and obey the posted speed limits.

Speed continues to be a major factor in serious crashes and dangerous driving complaints. Beginning June 1, officers will increase traffic enforcement efforts as part of the “Slow Monroe” campaign. Slow down, stay alert, and help keep downtown Monroe safe for everyone.
