Hard to believe this was almost 30 years ago.

That’s me at about 3 years old with my dad in Montana. I already had my own little race car, and Dad had his race car and a few trophies sitting behind us.

Looking back, I don’t really remember a time where I wasn’t around a race car or helping work on one! I’m thankful for the way I was raised.

Seeing the payouts at Cresco Speedway got me thinking…

With $1,200 to win Hobby Stocks, $2,000 to win Stock Cars, and $1,000 to win B-Mods, you’d think the pits would be packed. But car counts were still lower than many expected.

I’m genuinely curious—what do you think is keeping racers away?

Is it:

* The cost of racing?
* Fuel and tire prices?
* Too many tracks splitting the cars?
* Scheduling conflicts?
* Rules packages?
* Travel distance?
* Not enough cars being built?
* Pay not spread out enough?

This isn’t meant to bash any track or promoter. I’m honestly interested in hearing racers’, fans’, and crew members’ perspectives on what you think the biggest reasons are.

Keep it respectful—I’m curious to see what everyone thinks.

Night 1 of the Cresco Speedway

Started 5th in heat and finished 4th.

Started 9th in the feature and finished 8th.

Looking forward to night number 2 at the The Mighty Howard County Fair. Made some carburetor changes last night that helped. Car feels good just need to make changes to my driving style… like not letting off the gas….

Winneshiek Raceway Recap…

Started 5th in heat, finished 4th. I made a change to the carburetor and it made it worse. I changed it back for the feature. Started 11th and made it up to 7th place. The car felt amazing! Until the right front brake line broke and I lost brakes. I spun out and collected another car and honestly feel terrible about it. We just have a few things to fix before Cresco Speedway double features on Wednesday and Thursday of the Mighty Howard County Fair.
