Here at Big Jons we ask nicely first. Every tool, every part, every car, is my friend!! (Most of the time 😏) So I talk nicely and ask politely first, and only sometimes do I have to yell at and threaten my “friends” But that’s only every now and then. 😉

Also some new O2 sensor sockets and a 2 foot long ratcheting wrench helps a good bit too.

(for those who were worried, the O2 sensor did come out of the socket. however, I did have to rough him up a bit 😁)

Also an easy one….

My phone. 100%

when my “phat” head can’t fit where it needs to my phone is my eyes to make sure my bolt hole are lined up… or confirm where the coolant is leaking… or inspect parts I just can’t see. Couldn’t do it without my trusty phone… it also means that 75% of the videos on my phone look a whole lot like this…. 😂😂

Late night exhaust gasket repairs on the work truck are always fun!! 🥲

There’s a lot of people… with a lot of opinions… just because someone posted a video doesn’t mean they know everything… don’t always trust the last “DIYer” sometimes it’s easier than they said…………. And sometimes it’s harder 😬 choose your battles wisely. 😏

That’s right friends!!

I’ve been managing Big Jon’s as a side business for the past year or so now and things have been steadily growing and getting more busy. From managing a small fleet, to getting word of mouth referrals, (thank you all, by the way) getting my truck set up the way I need, and just slowly growing in appointments and scope of work; it’s gotten to a point where 3 days a week isn’t quite sufficient for where I want to take this business.

It’s been a desire of mine to do mechanics full time for a few years now and in this last season after a lot of work (and a good bit of prayer)…..

It is time.

Starting in February of 2025 I’ll be resigning from my job in HVAC and taking on Big Jon’s full time.

So if you or a friend has any mechanical needs: diagnostic? Repair? or maintenance? Give me a call I’d love to get you taken care of!
