Long before Apple CarPlay, Tesla screens, or iPads even existed, I was building custom desktop computers into the dashboard of a Honda Civic and a race van.
Back in the early 2000s, while everyone else was carrying 100-disc CD binders, I was gutting computer motherboards, wiring custom 12V power supplies into car audio amps, fitting in-dash touchscreens, and flush-mounting a gutted 15-inch monitor right into the ceiling headliner of our race travel van.
Losey.Co wasn't born in a safe corporate boardroom. It was forged over 25 years in dirt, garages, hospital radiation vaults, and championship pit lanes:
🌲 The Grassroots Spark:
• Started on four-wheelers and dirt bikes in my aunt’s woods outside Monmouth, Illinois, learning how engines worked with my own hands.
• Supported my friend and future brother-in-law in AMA Flat Track, wrenching at home, wiring that tech-heavy travel van, and hauling across the country until he earned his AMA Pro Expert plate.
• Founded israleague.com and iracersresource.com, managing 4 live competitive racing series a week and pioneering the first-ever live sim racing broadcasts for iRacing IndyCar and NASCAR with PSRTV.com.
• That obsession with racing telemetry and real-time operations caught the attention of RP Motorsports—inviting me to pull data at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg in SRO World Challenge—and my professional motorsport career took off.
🏔️ The Reno Gamble & Championships:
• Packed my bags and moved to Reno, Nevada on a whim to build and run Davidson Racing and oversee a $5M+ prototype vehicle fleet for Bob Davidson (founder of multi-billion dollar tech and software ventures).
• Self-learned race team management, evaluated exotic collection cars, designed and built custom wiring harnesses from scratch, and programmed MoTeC ECUs, PDMs, and custom digital dashes.
• The result? An Overall Win at the grueling NASA 25 Hours of Thunderhill, multiple national championships, and championship-winning efforts in IMSA and SRO.
🔬 Clinical & Life-Safety Engineering:
• Moved back to the Midwest, mastered commercial life-safety and fire programming with Siemens and Getz Fire.
• Recruited to serve as Project Manager, Electronics Engineer, and software commissioning lead on the multi-million dollar Varian ProBeam 360 proton cancer therapy accelerator at OSF Saint Francis Hospital in Peoria.
🏎️ The Pinnacle of Motorsport:
• Trackside Engine Telemetry Liaison with Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) in the IndyCar Series—celebrating an Indianapolis 500 victory and 2x Manufacturer Championships parsing 200+ sensor channels under extreme pressure.
