A quick recap of the first three events of the season for Bellamy Motorsports!

The year started with a P8 finish out of 16 competitors at the CCR-SCCA event on 5/30. The following day, the Camaro found its stride at the Porsche Club Autocross, bringing home P1 in class. Most recently, we finished P2 out of 10 in CAM-T with Triad Sports Car Club.

It’s been a strong start to the season, with the Camaro becoming more consistent every event and giving the driver the confidence to push harder earlier in runs. The setup changes continue to pay dividends, and we’re learning more with every run.

Next up, we’ll be mounting a fresh set of Bridgestone RE-71RZ tires to get them scrubbed in and evaluate their handling characteristics before making the trip to Georgia for the Auto Crusade Autocross on August 21-22.

More seat time. More grip. More confidence.

Everyone is chasing the latest LS, LT, or high-dollar engine combinations, but sometimes simple still works.

This SBC has been proving that for years.

✅ 2020 SCR-SCCA CAM Championship
✅ Multiple SCCA CAM Class Victories
✅ Countless Autocross Runs
✅ Street Driven Reliability

No exotic cylinder heads.
No giant roller cam.
No 700+ horsepower dyno sheet.

Just a well-sorted Small Block Chevy, proven suspension, plenty of seat time, and a focus on consistency.

The combination continues to remind me that championships aren’t won with parts alone—they’re won by maximizing the entire package.

Sometimes simple is all you need.

Race Recap – Triad Sports Car Club Autocross #4 @ zMAX Dragway

A solid day for the Bellamy Motorsports Camaro, despite Mother Nature having other plans.

Finished P2 out of 10 in CAM-T, but unfortunately only managed 2 runs before a monsoon rolled in, followed by a lengthy lightning delay. By the time the weather cleared, it was pushing close to 5 PM, and the Triad Club had to be off-site by 6 PM, so the remaining runs were canceled for me.

Definitely a bummer, as I never got the opportunity to make another attack on the course and chase down P1. The car felt strong, the setup is continuing to improve, and I was ready to keep pushing.

Still, we’ll take the positives. That’s back-to-back Top 2 finishes in the first three events of the season. The pace is there, the confidence is growing, and we’re learning more about this Camaro every event.

🏁 Final Checks Before Race Day 🏁

The Camaro is checked over, and ready for another day at ZMAX Dragway tomorrow with Triad Sports Car Club.

With temperatures expected to be high, it won’t just be a test of the car—it’s going to be a test of the driver as well. Staying hydrated, staying focused, and executing one run at a time will be the keys to a successful day.

The new setup continues to show promise, and tomorrow is another opportunity to gain valuable seat time, collect data, and keep pushing the limits.

See everyone at the track.

💪 Hydration.
🎯 Focus.

This Sunday, Bellamy Motorsports heads back to ZMAX Dragway for Triad Sports Car Club Autocross #4. The focus remains the same: more seat time, more data, and continuing to learn what the new setup wants.

Every event brings a little more confidence behind the wheel, and with each run the limits become a little clearer. Looking forward to another day of testing, tuning, and chasing faster times in the 1971 CAM-T Camaro.

P1 in Class and 3rd Fastest Overall out of 31 cars! 🏁

Wrapped up the weekend with the Porsche Club Autocross today. With 10 runs on a tighter, more technical course, I was able to really get a feel for the Camaro’s new setup.

The changes have definitely paid off—the car has noticeably more grip and confidence in the corners. As the day went on, I realized I had been leaving some speed on the table and was actually under-driving the car during the early runs. Once I started trusting the setup and pushing harder in the final few runs, the times continued to drop.

The learning curve continues, but the new combination is showing a lot of promise.

First seat time of the season…✅ My fastest time of day would been 56.6 but coned 3 out of my 4 runs…only had 1 really good dry lap and car felt impressive with the new MOD Shocks…more testing tomorrow with Porsche Club Autocross in Winston!

Comparison of 315(left) vs 275(right) front tire…because grip matters! 👌💯🏁
