☀️ The truth about golf cart lead-acid batteries and our Florida summers

Here's something most cart owners never realize: heat is the #1 thing that shortens battery life — more than age, more than how many miles you put on it.

And the sneaky part? Hot weather actually makes your cart feel STRONGER. You'll get great pep and plenty of range all summer long. But that same heat is quietly wearing the batteries out underneath. So "runs great" doesn't mean "healthy" — which is exactly why folks are shocked when a set that felt perfect suddenly dies after a couple of seasons.

Three simple things that genuinely add life in our climate:

🔹 Water matters more in summer. In this heat the water inside the batteries evaporates faster. Check the levels more often and top off with distilled water — letting them run low is one of the fastest ways to kill a set.

🔹 Charge after every use. Never leave your cart sitting with a dead or low charge, especially in the heat. Full charge = longer life.

🔹 Park in the shade when you can. A cart baking on hot pavement runs a lot hotter than the air around it.

Now the honest part: because a hot battery feels fine right up until it doesn't, you usually can't tell how much life is left just by driving it.
