Hey guys, so yeah we still have the MNCEC name on this page as Facebook takes a few days to catchup 😂 I just wanted to make this as a central post where everyone can post there comments or concerns or trolls!
So let’s answer the first and main question, “why the name change?”
We felt as a group (the board and admin team) that we should rebrand in total. Why? Because with what happened with the murder/suicide we wanted to distance ourselves fully from the old brand of MNCEC. We don’t stand for anything that happened and wanted to keep the community together but also show that we’re going in a different direction. Also, the website, bank accounts, debt, and our 501c were all in the previous presidents name. So without power of attorney or a bunch legal bs we just let that go.
Next question, “why not just start a new group?”
The main reason is because nobody else is bigger than the current group we have and for the community we felt that we had an obligation to help connect car enthusiasts. Keeping this group alive is our best shot to do that. Some of us have been helping with the page/events for 5+ years. So we also felt some sort of ownership of this group. Why let all of our own effort go to waste?
Next question, “wtf is Redline North America? Are you guys going global?”
So we voted as a group on the name. There was lots of thought put into the name because we didn’t want to be just Minnesota as we have a ton of members that live in Wisconsin/Iowa/Dakotas/ect. And not it’s not cause we want you to REDLINE your VQ at the meet 😂
Next question, “omg did they sell out?”
No we didn’t sell out 😂 we actually had a ton of things to remedy on the back end. Some of them never even got solved.
If you have any other questions or trolls out them below and I’ll try my best to get to them. Or you can always dm my personal account (Brian DuBose) 👀 we are still trying to get full access to everything to get the name change solidified. So be patient with us!
Overall we hope that everyone can be forward thinking and just understand the point of this group. We had to cancel all of our events for the above mentioned things and we wanna get back to doing what we do best. Putting on fun events for car enthusiasts. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Also because it still seems to be a question. We are not associated with Carmmunity. Our page says that because again everything was under Dans control. We are working on a way to gain full control over the page but until then just stay patient. We have some events planned coming up.
