Our 1968 428 Cobra Jet GT Mustang out of metal repair headed to paint and body!

I think that really should be body and paint, but that’s not the way people say it. I never figured that out.

Engine is in the machine shop. I’m still looking for a transmission and a set of correct exhaust manifolds FOMOCO branded.

This one is a very low mileage car that was an old Race Car that had been stuck in a shipping container up in Canada and forgotten years ago.

It may take a while, but we’re gonna bring it back to as close to original as we can.

Here is the 71 Cobra Jet we picked up in Ohio turns out to be a nice car with a perplexing decision to be made!

Obviously the previous owner was planning to bracket race this car!

Do I leave it as is and get it running and find a new owner who wants to race it or do I put it back to near stock and make it a street car again.

I think the value is on putting back on the street my heart is at the track!

Here’s an interesting project will be starting on next month. It’s a Yellow Boss 351.

The new owners got it from the wife’s father passed down!

It’s close enough to Original that we can really do it some justice.

We will clean it up. It’s heavily Ziebart coated! Will be a good story if it nice under the goop being from Syracuse.

We’re gonna ice blast everything off, refinish the engine compartment, trunk, and the underside of the car detail the engine, put it back as close to Original as we can tune it up get it running right so that they can take it and enjoy it for many years to come. Here’s a video then I’ll post a few pictures.

Ice blasting will do a lot of it, but this will also take a lot of hand labor!

Several people are asking about the third car!

It is true. These things tend to come in groups. I won’t buy a car for a few months then several will show up at one time.

There’s actually a fourth car within about 10 days four cars showed up that I was able to buy that I needed or wanted. I thought there was some value in them!

That does not happen very often
I don’t buy as many cars as I used to, even though it may seem so.

The third car is a 71 429 Cobra Jet Mach 1 4 Speed J Code Ram Air.

Originally it was pewter, but it was painted black and it’s been drag raced.

This will be converted back into a street car and will just be a driver for somebody.

I suspect it’s in pretty good shape from the pictures I’ve seen and the background on the car. We’ll have it in the shop end of next week with the other two and we’ll post some pictures and video.

We’re on our way to Michigan next week to pick up two cars in Detroit and then stop back by Ohio and pick up a third car...

We’re on our way to Michigan next week to pick up two cars in Detroit and then stop back by Ohio and pick up a third car. The last couple of weeks has been very active.

The first car we are picking up is the Grabber Blue Boss 351 that I posted about yesterday!

Here’s the second car it is really a special find that will take a lot of work time and effort to save it!

This is a 1971 sports roof 429 Super Cobra Jet with a four speed and factory 4:11 gear ratio a very low option car with Ram Air and black standard interior!

This will be a very cool car when done but it’s gotta come back to the shop for evaluation to see if it’s financially feasible!
