To my M157/m278 community! We have some exciting new updates and breakthroughs that we have been working on. A2d has consistently pushed the platform to new levels, giving so many owners inspiration to follow through and build their project. Sharing information, data, ideas and methods to use. we have some tested and proven new additions! we have successfully installed and tested upgraded behive valve springs with increased seat /spring pressure. The oem springs are to soft and have a tendency to float which causes high boost tunes to crack open the valves and or delay closure. stopping us from being able to take these m157 to 6500-7k rpm successfully. Especially with high boost. We have also added to the list of first ever! Upgraded camshaft profiles! Increased valve lift, increased duration, for both intake and exhaust! This is NOT!!! Easy. The VVT is very picky about valve spring pressure, and higher lift camshafts. But after many attempts we nailed it . Custom titanium retainers added for some weight savings and as you can see we have shaved weight from the valve train. This may not seem like much but I assure you this helps. We hand ported the heads using specific percentages based off the size of the valves, keeping a rough port for better methanol suspension as its atomizes. We have also add ARP washer allowing for better clamping distribution, while increasing the size of the cross bolt washers using and arp hardware. We found the with high power the stock main cap bolts hold well but the cross bolts give way sometimes causing some main caps to rock. The results are outstanding!! We can now run 93 octane on what was once a high octane map doing consistent low 5’s 60-130 runs, on 93 with a daily street map rpm set To 6500. Next up 7k and low 4’s
