A new, modernized commercial driver's license (CDL) skills test is coming! We updated the test's Vehicle Inspection and Basic Control Skills portions to reflect modern vehicle features. The third component – a road test – remains unchanged. The new test will be offered at all PennDOT Driver License Centers that offer CDL skills tests and all third-party CDL driving skill testers beginning August 28, 2023.
