I've been in operation as a detail shop for several years so far, and while I definitely haven't seen it all yet, yesterday brought a new kind of detailing challenge I hadn't seen yet.
A customer was driving their CV-V on Hwy 59 near the roundabouts in Newville when he saw a tiny kitten in the roadway. Traffic was driving over it, not seeing it in the lane. He and his wife stopped in traffic, scooped up the little kitten, and put it inside their vehicle. The tiny kitten, being a tiny kitten, immediately escaped their grasp and crawled up into the dashboard behind the glove compartment. It had completely disappeared up in there.
The customer called me, drove over, and we had to disassemble the dashboard and remove the glove box before we found the tiny kitten behind the cabin air filter box. He needed a bit of finesse and persuasion to come out of his perch as he was clinging tight to the firewall, but we got him out.
We think he is a boy, sometimes it is difficult to tell, but if so, we have named him Walter. If he is a she like we originally thought, Daisy Mae is the name.
