Here it is. ANNOUNCEMENT TIME. 901 DAY

WE ARE MOVING!
AGAIN! 😂🤣
The shop is too small! So we’re gonna learn our lesson and aim big!

How big Moose?

Great question…
How about nearly 11,000 SQUARE FEET!
How about nearly 3.4 ACRES!
How about 11 BAYS!
How about secure access facility! Gated and electrified.
Stand alone property with endless possibilities for us!

Car shows, meet & greets, fundraising events for charities, and so much more being planned already!

Out of state customers! We touch 14 states already and want more. How about trailer storage options for you so you don’t have to haul an empty trailer back. Locals too.

One of the biggest complaints we get often at the 8145 shop is how tiny the parking lot is. Well, we’re fixing that! The front lot can hold over fifty vehicles alone. 🥳

Clients always want to see and touch products. Well, how about over 2,000 sqft of show room now? And wait til we roll that out, it will be amazing when finished!

Another concern from clients is our lead times are too long. Four to five weeks is a long wait, I understand. And with eleven bays, we are bringing on more techs and aim to stay around two or three weeks for the big projects. And even sooner for the quicker jobs.

Speaking of faster service and scheduling options for the quicker jobs… So how about a QUICK LANE? Less than two hour jobs will get that scheduled sooner. No longer waiting behind the suspensions and regears.

Quick lane also opens us up for FLEET SERVICES. So many of our clients are business owners. And a lot of them have fleets. I want to be YOUR fleet shop. Not a customer yet? Got a business and seeking better options for your fleet. We’ll be offering that real soon!

Let me not forget to show my gratitude. First and foremost, all glory to God. Prayers are being answered. Second, to my wife, Kay, for putting up with my shenanigans. The guys that give their blood, sweat, & tears behind the scenes. Caleb, Derik, & of course our local favorite Golden Wrench winner, Big Jon! These guys work so hard for you and they maintain the standard & expectations that make us who we are. AND thank you to the friends & clients that have made all this possible through the years!

🔧 TECH TUESDAY: THAT AIN’T JUST A RADIO ANYMORE

As the 2027 model year begins to arrive next month and we get another year closer to a decade of the JL platform, some JK and TJ owners may be considering purchasing a current Wrangler or Gladiator. The early years are coming down in price making them an affordable market. A few differences to understand when making the leap from an older platform to the current. On older Wranglers, replacing the radio meant… replacing the radio.

The JL/JT changed the game.

Uconnect became an interface for multiple vehicle systems. Depending on equipment, that screen handles or provides access to:

• Climate controls
• Heated seats & steering wheel
• Cameras
• LOTS of vehicle settings
• Driver-assistance settings
• Phone & navigation
• OffRoad Pages
• Other vehicle-specific functions

Jeep’s own JL/JT documentation shows Climate, Controls, Settings and other vehicle functions integrated directly into Uconnect. In some cases, vehicle repair or modifications require radio interaction.

So when that screen acts up—or somebody wants to rip it out and install something else—we aren’t necessarily dealing with just a stereo anymore. Buying that Kenwood, Sony, or Pioneer (ya know, with the 🐬🐬🐬) off a Crutchfield catalog isn’t the play any longer. Your radio has to be able to communicate with so many modules now.

The radio screen may be the interface. Another module may control the function. And the vehicle network carries the conversation. So just do some research, get savvy to the technology, and enjoy your JL/JT platform.

Your Wrangler is still a solid-axle brick. It just has an IT department now.

🔧 MONDAY MORNING MECHANIC

Your pre-trip inspection shouldn’t happen the day before your trip.

Finding a bad ball joint Thursday afternoon doesn’t help much when you’re leaving Friday morning.

Road trip? Trail weekend? Big off-road event?

Get the vehicle inspected early enough to actually fix what we find.

Parts may need to be ordered. Alignments take time. One worn component can uncover another problem once we get underneath it.

And “Can you just make it safe by tomorrow?” isn’t much of a repair strategy. 😂

Plan the trip. Inspect the rig. Fix it right. Then go beat on it.

🔧 TECH TUESDAY: GREEN DOESN’T MEAN GOOD.

A $40,000 alignment machine can make a beautiful printout.

That doesn’t mean your vehicle is properly aligned.

A machine measures. The technician aligns.

At Lunes Off-Road, we teach alignments manually—tape measures, digital angle finders, axle position, wheelbase, caster, pinion angle, toe and actual suspension geometry.

Why?

Because we want our technicians to understand WHY the numbers matter, not just how to turn red boxes green.

We own the fancy alignment machine.
(It may or may not also be broken🤣😂)

We just refuse to let it do the thinking.

Anyway, old school alignments! We know how do them. And not just toe and steering. ALL AXIS alignment. Because we believe KNOWING alignment is not the same as knowing just how to use a fancy alignment machine. That doesn’t tell you the whole story. Solid axles and IFS. Bring your Jeeps, your trucks, the Broncos and the Toyotas. The 1500s and the 2500/3500 HDs. We align them all.

MONDAY MORNING MECHANIC 🔧

“BUT IT’S BRAND NEW.”

Cool. We’re checking it anyway…

New doesn’t mean good.
New doesn’t mean installed correctly.
New doesn’t mean it’s the right part.
New doesn’t mean it’s a quality part.
New doesn’t mean something else didn’t destroy it.
And new sure as heck does not mean diagnosed.

We’ve seen new ball joints installed incorrectly. New shocks fail. New sensors cause problems. New steering components be terrible two weeks after install. And plenty of perfectly good parts replaced because somebody diagnosed a vehicle with a credit card instead of an inspection.

When you tell your mechanic, “That can’t be it—I just replaced it,” you’re giving us useful history. Honestly.

We’re not using it as a diagnosis. We’re still going to check it. Trust the evidence, not the receipt. New doesn’t mean right or even functional. In the post-covid world, this seems more true than ever.
