We got it lucky yall. People haven't had power for over a week now and some people don't even have a house left. Thankfully everyone in this house survived. East side of Georgia is a real mess. Power companies and these linemen are busting their ass everyday to restore power to affected areas. The shear amount of trees that are down is hard to explain. Certain small areas are way more damaged than others. Some areas look like tornados, while others just look like super high winds. 100mph in spots. A shooting occurred over someone breaking in line for fuel. People are mad that a lot of people are here causing traffic and getting groceries and fuel, but let me say this. As human Beings God tells us to help people. Yes it sucks cause our traffic is already a nightmare, but understand a lot of these people left because they have no where else until fema and insurance get their homes fixed. We should be patient and welcoming. Maybe ask someone what they need. Imagine crawling out of your destroyed home and getting to our town, only to hear people say that they should find somewhere else to go. Go drive an hour East. When you get back I guarantee you won't be so mad. As people we must do better to help those that really could use some positive in their life. Next time you grabbing some lunch and see a lineman, firefighter, police, EMT in line get their lunch. These people have worked a ton of hours with very little rest and time off. Still a long road to getting East GA back but we all can do a part.
