We approach every job with the same amount of focus, precision and integrity - whether it's a comprehensive yacht refit, a historically accurate restoration, or a simple woodworking repair. Our areas of expertise are concentrated around three primary services:
Classic Boat Restorations · Modern Yacht Woodworking · Yacht Decking Solutions

Classic Boat Restorations: full restorations of antique and classic wooden runabouts and utilities, sail and pulling craft, as well as repair and maintenance of all types of wooden vessels. In addition, we are available for the construction of new builds and replicas. Modern Yacht Woodworking: high-end joinery design, construction, repairs and custom fabrication of teak and mahogany transoms, swim platforms, toe and cap rails, coamings, deck houses, dorade boxes, interior cabinetry, bulkheads, moldings and trim, built-ins, and furnishings. We work with marinas and marine service providers on extensive yacht refits. We also work directly with private yacht owners on smaller scale projects. Yacht Decking Solutions: we design, fabricate and install custom teak decks, and we repair/refinish existing teak decks. As the authorized Northeast representatives for Permateek Marine Decking (PVC decking) and Amtico Marine Flooring (LVT flooring), we provide our clients with full-service synthetic decking and flooring options. Winter haul out season has begun. We picked up our customer’s 1965 EM White Runabout that we rebuilt and restored last year. She’s coming back for some touch ups and adjustments after a fun summer on the lake.

Time to start thinking about those winter projects. Give us a call, we’ll help you create a focused maintenance plan to have your boat dialed in for next spring.

How can we help you?

SHENENDOAH is a beautiful 2021 Vicem 55 FB. Back in 2024 we were brought in by to help the owners improve their boating experience. After a rocky start, this one turned out better than we all could have imagined.

During prep, we discovered that the factory nonskid paint was failing. After some discussion with the powers that be, it was determined that the best course of action was to grind off all the nonskid paint back to primer before applying the new Permateek decks. Crisis averted, problem solved.

We worked directly with the owners to develop a deck design that fit their vision. And the group at Essex Boat Works were great collaborators, it was truly a team effort.

Speaking of team effort: the owners loved the Permateek so much they decided to add it to the flybridge a year later. Since they had moved back to Virginia and out of our region, we reached out to our friend Mark to complete the flybridge decks.

Thanks to all that were involved to help us get this one done.

Busy hands in the shop. Our team is working diligently on dozens of winter projects.

Every line we cut, every surface we finish, and every detail we refine reflects a commitment to doing things the right way, not the easy way.

We believe true craftsmanship shows in the details most people never see: the precision of the fit, the durability of the materials, and the pride behind every step of the process.

It’s this relentless attention to detail that defines who we are and what we stand for.

No shortcuts. No compromises. Just fine yacht woodworking done right.

Which do you prefer: synthetic or traditional? Either way, we can help!

As a full service yacht joinery shop and the New England regional Permateek distributor, we specialize in yacht deck replacements with both synthetic Teak and traditional Teak. Our clients expect the highest level of craftsmanship and ex*****on when it comes to their decks. We pride ourselves not only on exceeding their discerning expectations, but also by providing an enjoyable customer experience throughout the project duration and into the future.

Are your Teak decks ready to be replaced? Or are you just not sure what to do with your aging Teak decks and need some guidance? Have you heard about ‘synthetic’ Teak decking and want to learn more? Give us a call, we’re happy to discuss all the options and find the right solutions for your boat or yacht.
