Another clean, OEM-style audio upgrade in the works on this 2004 Mercedes-Benz G500. 🔊

We installed a Match UP 10 DSP MK2 in the exact location of the factory amplifier and fabricated a custom ABS bracket to mount everything securely using the original area.

Because there was no plug-and-play harness available for this vehicle, we carefully soldered our connections onto the factory wiring without cutting the original harness. That keeps the installation fully reversible if the client ever decides to return the G500 back to stock.

That’s always the goal — upgrade the technology and performance without unnecessarily altering the vehicle.

We’re feeling incredibly blessed and thankful to have some great work in the shop right now. 🙏

Today we’ve got a little bit of everything going on.

A 2026 Toyota Corolla is getting full Llumar FormulaOne Pinnacle ceramic window film all the way around for excellent heat rejection, UV protection, and a clean finished look.

We’re also working on a 2023 Dodge Challenger Hellcat that’s getting our flagship Compustar Pro T13 system with push-button disable and DroneMobile telematics, giving the customer unlimited-range control for both security and remote starting.

And of course, we’re continuing work on the 2004 Mercedes-Benz G500, upgrading it with a Sony wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto radio, a backup camera, and a Match UP 10 DSP to bring the audio system to an entirely different level.

Three completely different vehicles, three different goals, and the same attention to detail on every one.

This 2004 Mercedes-Benz G500 came in for a complete technology and audio upgrade while keeping the classic G-Wagon interior clean and functional.

We installed a Sony XAV-AX4000 to add wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Bluetooth, and a much more modern touchscreen experience.

For added safety and convenience, we installed a Rydeen backup camera, giving the driver a clear view behind the vehicle when reversing.

The biggest audio upgrade came from the MATCH UP 10DSP, giving us powerful amplification along with full digital signal processing so we can properly tune the system and get the most out of the factory speaker locations.

A great example of how an older vehicle can gain modern technology and dramatically improved sound without taking away from what makes the vehicle special.

This 2018 Subaru Forester came in for a serious technology upgrade. 🔥

We installed a Sony XAV-AX4000 multimedia receiver, giving the customer wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, a much cleaner interface, and a huge improvement over the factory radio.

We also added a BlackVue Elite 10 dash camera system, giving the vehicle high-quality front and rear video coverage for added protection while driving and while parked.

Everything was installed cleanly and integrated properly so the finished result looks right at home in the Subaru.

This 2018 Subaru Forester came in for a major technology upgrade!

We installed a Sony XAV-AX4000, giving the customer a modern touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, and a much better overall interface than the factory radio.

We also added a BlackVue Elite 10 dual 4K dash camera system, providing high-quality front and rear recording for added protection and peace of mind on the road.

Everything was installed cleanly and professionally, with the wiring routed properly and the finished result looking right at home in the vehicle.

Another clean technology upgrade completed on this 2021 Honda HR-V!

We installed a Sony XAV-AX4000, giving the customer wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto while still retaining the factory steering wheel controls.

We were also able to retain the factory backup camera, but these HR-Vs have to be wired correctly to avoid the distorted fisheye-style image. Getting those little details right makes a huge difference in the finished installation.

For added protection, we also installed a BlackVue Elite 10 dual-camera system with 4K recording, giving the customer high-quality video coverage from both the front and rear of the vehicle.

OEM features retained, modern technology added, and everything integrated cleanly.

Two very different vehicles in the shop, both getting the kind of detail-focused work we’re known for.

This 2021 Honda HR-V came in for a BlackVue ELITE 10 dash camera system along with a Sony XAV-AX4000 upgrade, giving the client wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

One of the important details on the dash camera installation is how we handle the rear camera wiring. We route the cable through the factory rear hatch boot instead of leaving wiring exposed or taking shortcuts. That allows us to mount the rear camera tight against the rear glass for a clean factory-style installation and the best possible picture.

We’re also finishing up this 2021 BMW X5 M with a premium tint package:
• FormulaOne Stratos on the full windshield
• FormulaOne Pinnacle on the front two doors
• AIR 80 on the entire back half

From electronics to window film, the little installation details are what separate a good job from a great one.

🔥 The finished result on our 2019 Acura TLX build! 🔥

After all the fabrication, design work, and attention to detail, this trunk is officially complete—and it came out flawless.

We built the entire design around dual 12” Ground Zero Iridium subwoofers, with a custom clear acrylic lace panel illuminated with RGB lighting.

To finish everything off, we combined black vinyl, painted acrylic matched to the vehicle’s paint, and rose-gold acrylic accents matched to the wheels. Every layer, material, and color was chosen to tie the entire build together.

A completely custom trunk designed and fabricated right here at Speed of Sound Technologies.

It’s the little fabrication details that make a finished trunk look truly finished.

On our 2019 Acura TLX project, we rewrapped the side panels and used magnets to secure the finished pieces together so there are no visible screws or fasteners.

We started with a base layer of acrylic with magnets installed into it. The new finished acrylic panel also had magnets installed, so once everything was lined up, the two pieces simply snapped together perfectly.

Clean appearance, strong hold, and the panel can still be removed later if service is ever needed.

No exposed screws. No unnecessary hardware showing. Just a clean, finished look.

That’s the level of detail we focus on with our custom fabrication.

Manual transmission and remote start? Absolutely — when it’s done the right way. 🔥

We installed a Compustar Q9 remote starter into this 2020 Jeep Wrangler with a manual transmission, and Compustar has several layers of safety built specifically for stick-shift applications.

The system uses Reservation Mode, which requires the vehicle to be left in neutral with the parking brake properly set before remote start can be enabled. Once the correct sequence is completed and the vehicle is secured, the system knows it is safe to remote start. If a door is opened afterward, Reservation Mode is canceled and the vehicle will not remote start until the proper sequence is completed again.

Compustar also uses the DAS-II sensor, which includes an accelerometer to detect unexpected vehicle movement. If movement is detected during remote start, the system can shut the engine down as an additional layer of protection.

Between Reservation Mode, parking-brake monitoring, door and hood inputs, brake monitoring, clutch-bypass integration, and the DAS-II sensor, there is a lot more going on behind the scenes than simply “starting the vehicle.”

When remote starting a manual transmission vehicle, proper installation and proper safety integration are everything.
