Why don’t Super Late Models run E85 when it’s so popular with Crate Late Models?
The short answer is octane—but that is beginning to change.
More than 20 years ago, it was common for race teams to use ethanol’s close relative, methanol. Methanol could support high-compression engines, but it required nearly twice the fuel volume of gasoline. That much fuel burn-off negatively affects the car’s handling.
Both methanol and ethanol can meet the demands of high-compression Super Late Model engines. The challenge with E85 is often the gasoline portion of the blend. When low-octane gasoline or denaturant is used, the finished fuel may not provide enough detonation resistance for these engines.
At least three major race-fuel suppliers currently offer E85 blended with 100 octane or less. Many also use E98—ethanol containing approximately 2% denaturant—rather than pure ethanol. If that denaturant and the remaining gasoline are low octane, they can further limit the finished fuel’s performance.

That’s where Custom Fuels by RMB Racing comes in.
We offer custom-blended E85 made with high-quality ethanol and high-octane race fuel. Our blends can be formulated to meet the demands of high-compression racing engines.
The benefits are substantial:
✅ Potentially as little as one-third the cost of conventional race fuel
✅ Improved cooling
✅ Far less additional fuel volume than methanol requires
✅ A blend designed for your engine’s specific needs

E85 requires more fuel volume than conventional gasoline-based race fuel, but the increase is modest compared with methanol.
The future of racing fuel is changing—and we believe E85 will be a major part of it.

20 Years of Racing. 20 Years of Family. 20 Years of Building Something Bigger.

What a day to celebrate!

Today, RMB Racing proudly celebrates 20 years of serving the racing community.

Like any journey, we've experienced our share of victories and challenges, but every step has helped shape who we are today.
What many people don't know is that RMB Racing is the foundation that six other companies were built upon. Today, those companies serve industries including aerospace manufacturing, mining, oil & gas, and graphics. Twenty years ago, we could have never imagined where this journey would lead.

We started by selling race parts out of the back of a pickup truck at our local dirt track. Today, we manufacture precision components for customers across multiple industries while never forgetting where it all began.

To every customer, racer, sponsor, employee, friend, and family member who has been part of this journey—thank you. Your support, encouragement, and loyalty have made the last 20 years possible. We are incredibly grateful, and we truly appreciate and love every one of you.

The best part? We're just getting started.
We have some exciting announcements coming in the months ahead, and we can't wait to share what's next.

Here's to the next 20 years! 🏁🧡

It’s official — RMB Racing is now your source for Fuel Factory Race Fuel in West Virginia.
We’re excited to offer pre-packaged race fuel with consistent quality and pricing comparable to pre-COVID levels.

This transition comes after increasing concerns around fuel quality, handling, and rising costs. After nearly 20 years, we’ve made the decision to move in a direction that allows us to better control product integrity—from production to delivery.

With Fuel Factory, fuel is sealed, controlled, and not subject to the variables that can come with bulk storage and transport. All other fuel brands in WV are sold from bulk storage and transportation.
If consistency matters to your program, this is a change worth paying attention to.
