Caught up with Jamie Livingston and Eric Roberts rigging up today. When the record was set in 1989, Jamie was 3rd just behind Eric. They can both attest to accurate time keeping on that infamous day. Good luck to these sailors in defending the record this year!

Sailors launching off the beach at MYC on Watson Island circa 1955 on the first running of what would become known as the historic Miami to Key Largo Regatta. Sailboats have become faster since then and the current course record was set in 1989 by Bill Roberts on “Out of Sight” who sailed with his son Eric and achieved a time of 1hr 44 minutes. They clocked an average speed of 26 knots over the 42-mile race!!! Who will win the 70th running of the Regatta this weekend and will they set a new record?

- Ana Trujillo
- Santiago Holz
I’m looking forward to a productive year! Let’s get to work.”

Calling all members (new and old) to roll up your sleeves and join us for a little Spring cleaning at the Club this weekend. Take pride in our historic clubhouse (originally built by our members own hands!) and help us get things spiffy again. As is tradition, there will be a BBQ and keg beer for volunteers. This is also a great way to socialize and meet new members. Otherwise, BAR AND RESTAURANT CLOSED ALL WEEKEND FOR RENOVATIONS.
