The funniest part about the car community is the people who comment “just LS swap it” on every single post like it’s the easiest thing in the world… meanwhile these are the same dudes who have to Google which way to turn a ratchet to loosen a bolt. Every time someone posts a blown motor, bad head gasket, rod knock, timing chain issue, doesn’t matter what car it is, there’s always 47 experts in the comments saying “bro just LS swap it” Like yeah man, let me just casually drop everything, pull the entire drivetrain, custom mount a different engine, rewire the whole car, redo the fuel system, trans, driveshaft, ECU, cooling, exhaust, and tune it… all in my driveway after work. Half the people saying LS swap don’t even know how to change their own oil without stripping the drain plug or double-gasketing the filter. These are the same guys that bring their car to Jiffy L**e and then talk like they’re running a full race shop in the comments. Not everyone wants to LS swap everything. Some people actually fix their cars instead of turning every problem into a Facebook Marketplace engine build they’ll never finish. Car won’t start? LS swap. Bad alternator? LS swap. Flat tire? LS swap. Check engine light? Obviously LS swap. At this point I’m convinced the people who say that don’t even own tools, they just own opinions.

You know what I’ve never understood? Why people still pay for tire rotations like it actually does something. Tires are literally spinning the entire time the car is moving. Every mile you drive they rotate thousands of times, but somehow I’m supposed to believe that taking them off and putting them in a different spot suddenly makes them last longer? That makes zero sense. This is one of the biggest service scams out there. Shops push tire rotations every oil change like it’s required maintenance, but the tires don’t know what corner of the car they’re on. They’re still rolling on the same road at the same speed. If rotating them actually mattered, race cars would be swapping tires front to back every pit stop instead of just replacing them. All it really is is an easy charge they can add because people won’t question it. Ten minutes with an impact gun and suddenly it’s another line on the bill. Meanwhile the tires keep wearing the exact same way because they’re still doing the exact same thing — spinning. Unless a tire is damaged, unevenly worn, or you changed suspension parts, rotating them is just paying money to feel like you did maintenance. If anything, constantly moving them around just gives shops more chances to strip lugs and mess up your wheels. But people will still swear you need rotations every 5k because the sticker told them so.

I am absolutely beyond furious right now. I set my cruise control to 70 MPH in my Toyota and trusted the technology like they advertise, and next thing I know the car is going 74 MPH by itself and I pass a cop sitting on the side of the highway. I get pulled over immediately, and I told the officer straight up that this is NOT my fault, the cruise control accelerated on its own. He didn’t care at all and still wrote me a speeding ticket like I was the one controlling the throttle. This is completely unacceptable. If Toyota is going to put all this adaptive cruise control, lane assist, radar, GR-Four, computer driving nonsense in the car, then the car should be responsible when it breaks the law, not me. I bought this vehicle under the impression that the speed you set is the speed it goes, not whatever the computer feels like doing that day. Now I’m stuck with a ticket, higher insurance, and points on my record because of a malfunctioning system. That sounds like false advertising, product defect, negligence, and fraud to me. I did not manually accelerate, I did exactly what the manual says, and the car still sped up on its own. At this point I’m seriously considering calling a lawyer and looking into lemon law, because if the cruise control can’t even hold the speed I set, then the whole vehicle is unsafe. Toyota needs to either pay this ticket, fix the car, or buy it back, because I did not sign up to get cited by the police because their software can’t follow the speed limit.

I’m so tired of these detail page “experts” acting like using Dawn dish soap on your car is some kind of felony. Every time someone posts about washing their car with Dawn, the comment section fills up with keyboard chemists screaming about stripping wax, destroying clear coat, drying out rubber, like the paint is made out of butter or something. Meanwhile I’ve been using plain blue Dawn for YEARS and my paint still looks better than half the cars I see that get washed with $40 boutique soap that smells like mango energy drink. These detailing companies got everyone convinced you need a special pH-balanced, ceramic-infused, graphene-enhanced, space-station-approved shampoo just to wash dirt off a car. It’s literally soap and water. We’re not performing surgery, we’re cleaning bugs off the bumper. And don’t even get me started on the price of these detailing products. $25 for a bottle of soap that lasts five washes? But somehow the $3 bottle of Dawn that cuts through baked-on grease, motor oil, and transmission fluid is suddenly “too harsh” for clear coat that survives highway rocks at 80 mph. Yeah okay. Half of this anti-Dawn talk feels like straight up big detail propaganda to keep people buying overpriced snake oil. If Dawn is strong enough to clean crude oil off ducks, I think it can handle a layer of road dust on my Tacoma without the paint filing a lawsuit. At the end of the day my car is clean, my wallet isn’t empty, and the detail bros are still writing essays about pH levels in the comments.

Hemi’$ can have some crazy camshaft failures, either on the 5.7L or even 6.4L. The MDS system deactivates certain cylinders, and that system can fail causing making camshaft or valve trai
