Stay warm in this cold weather and drive safe.

Things you may not know we do: A/C and heat repair, towing
brake repairs, tune ups, ac compressors and Freon , starters, alternators, battery replacement, check engine light diagnosis and health reports, fuel pump replacement, thermostats, shocks, struts, engine and transmission swaps and suspension work. We also do TPMS sensors and programming as well. If there is anything you need just ask. Call and find out what we can do for you for all your mechanical needs.

While we don't know exactly what's going to happen with the weather, we know something "not good" is going to happen.

Please use good judgement and don't get out unless it's necessary. Take a minute and spend time at home with your family if you can.

I've talked with MoDOT and Audrain County Road and Bridge supervisors, and they are gearing up for the worst, and the last thing they need is to try and duck and dodge vehicles along the roadways, especially stranded vehicles.

Understand, if you're stranded, deputies will try and help, but that risks our deputies getting stranded themselves, or worse yet, being involved in a crash.

If your stranded vehicle hinders road clearing and maintenance operations, we will have it towed at your expense.

If you must travel:

- leave extra early and drive cautiously

- ensure your fuel tank is full

- carry coveralls, blankets, coats, gloves, or whatever clothing necessary to stay warm in case you're stranded or break down

- carry a flashlight and spare set of batteries for it in your vehicle

- make sure you have a cell phone charger that works in your vehicle

- if you become stranded, ensure your exhaust pipe is not blocked by snow, and crack your windows if you're in your car with it running

- carry a bottle or 2 of water and non perishable snacks

While all of these things may sound simple, so many don't take the time to plan ahead, and it turns a routine problem into something more urgent. That forces Deputies, Troopers, and tow operators to risk becoming "part of the problem" along with you.
