That’s why it’s important to get regular service for your vehicle, such as inspections, oil changes and tire rotations.

You hear strange noises while driving.
If you’re driving down the road in a car that’s making knocking, squealing or grinding sounds, it’s probably time to call a mechanic. Strange noises can be an indication of malfunctioning spark plugs, low octane or brake issues.

Your dashboard lights are on.
You don’t want to ignore the “check engine” symbol or any other dashboard warning lights. It could be something small, but it’s best to find out and resolve the issue sooner rather than later.

You can feel vibrations.
It’s not normal to feel your steering wheel, gas pedal or seat shaking or vibrating. This could indicate a problem with your car’s tires, brakes or suspension system. And the more your car bounces around while you drive, the harder it can be for you to keep control of the steering wheel.

Your windshield has a chip or crack in it.
We’ve all been there: One day you look up and notice a small chip or crack in your windshield. Don’t ignore it — that small crack could become bigger, and repairing a small chip is less expensive (and less dangerous) than replacing your whole windshield.
