IT’S CALLED TEAMWORK – A prior customer came in, only to find that his usual representative was away. Just like family, another sales professional stepped up. The project involved getting a ’69 Dodge Dart up to speed to give to the customer’s son. With the same sense of family and attention to detail, we put together a great system consisting of Kicker LX amps, AudioControl speakers and a Sony radio in an under-dash kit. Our skilled install tech did a great job on the kick panel and back-package-tray speakers. We had this Dart pounding with a pair of Kicker CompQ 10 subwoofers! ROCKIN’ THE DUNES – The owner of a Polaris Pro RZR came in with a factory-stock sound system. This is his second RZR, and the owner called the current system “very underwhelming,” complaining that it distorted when turned up. He asked about adding additional speakers and an amp to bring up the total volume and clarity. Because we work on a lot of similar toys, knew exactly what to add to really bring this Polaris to life. We installed the AudioControl ACX300.4 UTV amplifier to deliver clean power and linked it to two pairs of Kicker 45KM654L marine speakers. We installed one pair in a door pod that was made by SSV Works and installed the second pair in 6.5-inch cage pods that mount to the roll bar. Upon completion our customer said this is exactly what he was looking for. He left excited to hit the trails and let everyone hear what a RZR should sound like. A customer came to see us at Audio Express in Mesa, looking for a way to upgrade the system in his wife’s 2018 Nissan Altima for her birthday. He definitely wanted to keep the factory deck, so we decided that new speakers and bass would be the way to go. We replaced the factory car speakers with JL Audio C2650’s. These 6.5-inch two-way speakers are part of the Evolution C2 system, built to deliver sparkling high-frequency detail, smooth mid-range and powerful mid-bass. They feature real silk dome tweeters and long linear excursion woofer designs. Getting the bass he wanted called for the LC2I made by Audio Control. This compact, two-channel processor converts the output from a factory radio to high-quality pre-amp signals, allowing him to have the best of all worlds. Driver safety on a big screen was the goal of a customer who came in to Audio Express in Mesa looking to upgrade his 2015 Chevy Silverado. His concerns were that he was not able to see his blind spots and his backup camera was on a 4.3-inch car stereo screen, which he could not see. We went over our options and we all decided that the Alpine ILX 209 GM 9-inch factory fit screen would be his best solution. Alpine’s careful attention to detail in the design makes this deck look like it came directly from the Chevy dealership. It also allows him to get the biggest screen possible in his vehicle so that he can see the display and feel safe while driving. The Alpine car stereo was able to integrate his factory backup camera and we took it one step further by adding in blind spot cameras as well. We paired the ILX 209 GM with the VA41 video switcher to integrate two PCAMBS1 blind spot cameras. This owner now has the ability to see down the sides of his vehicle and to the rear while backing up on a beautiful 9-inch touch screen radio. We brought him into the new era of connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well. Today, we had a father come in with his daughter looking to put a new car audio system in her vehicle before she headed off to college. They were looking for something with Apple CarPlay, decent bass and good sound to make her long trips between home and college more enjoyable. After walking them around the store and going through all their options for her FJ Cruiser, they decided to go with a JVC KWM750BT Double Din touch screen radio with CarPlay and Android Auto. This head unit will allow her to be able to use her Apple Maps and Apple Music safely while driving. For bass, they decided to go with a JL Audio Stealth box, SBTFJ/12W1V3. This was the perfect fit for her vehicle as it provided amazing bass without sacrificing much needed cargo space. Lastly, they decided on the perfect amp to drive the subwoofer; a Kenwood XR6011 600-watt mono amplifier. This Kenwood amp gave the subwoofer just enough power to give her that amazing sound she was looking for. Custom radio installation on this 2016 Dodge Challenger. Here at Audio Express in Mesa, we had a customer come in looking to replace his factory car stereo. To his surprise, when he had visited a few other shops in town, they told him it could not be done. He came by our Mesa Location hoping for a different outcome. That is exactly what he got; we told him, no problem. It does take custom work but nothing too crazy as far as modification is concerned. Custom sound on this 2019 Harley Davidson Bagger. The crew at our Mesa location had a customer come in looking to have serious car audio upgrade to his bike. He has an aftermarket fairing that houses a radio and 4- 5.25 speakers. His main focus was to have loud and clean at the higher speeds. He also wanted to hear mid bass as well. We carry the perfect speakers for this application. We had him listen to the high-end audiophile speakers by BLAM audio. This is a high-end speaker company out of France. After hearing these car speakers, he had to have them. We started off by making custom modification to his fairing; this way we were able to upgrade the size of one pair of speakers. We installed the BLAM Signature series S165.80C and paired those next to the BLAM relax 130RC speakers. For power, we installed the JL AUDIO XD400/4V2 4 channel amplifier on quick disconnect harnesses in the rear saddle bag. To bring this awesome system to light, we installed the Kicker KMC10 marine radio. This 2019 Harley bagger has everything it needed; loud, clean and plenty of mid bass for those beautiful cruises. The crew started by installing a front view low profile RVC1300L camera for parking needs and a PCAMDPL backup camera with dynamic parking guide lines to assist on the back end of things. All of this tied into a Kenwood Excelon DDX9906XR Double Din Reference receiver.
