My father bought the same truck new in 1978

I came across a 1980 C10 listed for $35,000… and it really made me stop and think.

What makes it even wilder? It’s showing an astonishing 982 miles since it was originally purchased to take care of chores around a Canadian family’s farm. That’s it. Not 98,000… not 9,800… just 982 honest miles.

There was a time when trucks like this were bought to work — hauling feed, pulling trailers, making supply runs into town. They weren’t collectibles. They were tools. Bench seat, simple gauges, and an engine you could fix with basic hand tools.

Now that same farm truck, preserved like a time capsule, is sitting with a price tag that rivals brand-new pickups.

Part of me understands it. You can’t recreate original paint, original miles, and untouched history. But $35K? That really shows how much the market — and the meaning of these trucks — has changed.

What do y’all think… is that price justified for something this original, or are we officially in another era of classic truck values?
