MOXIE HORSEMOBILE

THIS IS THE ONLY REMAINING ORIGINAL EXAMPLE OF PERHAPS TWO DOZEN OF THE FAMOUS MOXIE HORSEMOBILES. (SEVERAL REPLICA OR TRIBUTE CARS DO EXIST) THE ORIGINAL CARS FIRST APPEARED AROUND 1916 JUST AS THE HORSE WAS BEING REPLACED BY THE MOTOR CAR. THIS UNIQUE COMBINATION WAS USED IN PARADES AND SHOWS TO ADVERTISE THE POPULAR MOXIE SOFT DRINK. THE VEHICLE IS CONTROLLED BY THE RIDER WITH PEDALS AND A STEERING WHEEL CONNECTED THROUGH THE HORSE. THIS BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE, MOUNTED ON A LASALLE CHASSIS, IS ON DISPLAY AT CLARK’S IN AVERY’S GARAGE.

The Horse is out of the barn! Yesterday was a big day! For the first time since 2014 the Moxiemobile was driven out the door under its own power! After spending the winter here, and with the help of good friends we were honored to get this cherished and very special vehicle back on its feet!
