We closed Oldham Brothers Automotive at the end of 2021 due to the health of David and the effects aging had on me, (Bill). I had so many people calling and asking me to help them with small repairs that I have reopened the shop under a new name and am the sole owner and operator of OLDHAM AUTO. WORKS. If any of our former customers have a repair need, they can text me at 580 541 8914 and I will see if it is a job I am able to do. I am working by appointment only.

We have been very busy through the years and we have seen so many repairs that could have been avoided or could have been taken care of so much cheaper than they ended up being. That brings me to ask these questions. 1. When is the last time you checked your oil level in you vehicle? 2. How long has it been since you checked your engine coolant level? 3. When did you last check all the lights to make sure they all work? Most of these should be checked every time you fill up with fuel. So many people believe that the warning lights on the instrument panel will let them know when they need these things checked. The oil pressure light will come on around 7.5 psi. At idle speed the desired hot idle pressure is over 15 psi. Running psi should be from 35 psi up. The coolant temperature light comes on above 250 degrees. Take these questions to develop a schedule for your vehicle to help reduce future repair costs. Don't wait for your mechanic to tell you WHAT SHOULD HAVE DONE.

August 2019 marks 43 years here at Meno working on about anything people brought to us. Our health has been declining these past two years so we have had to rethink what we are able to work on. We finally found out that what we have done over those years has done us in. We will continue to help everyone with what we are able to do but we have had to stop taking in the heavy jobs that we used to do whether it hurt or not. We look forward to help in any way we can. We have been blessed with great customers who appreciate us and we think of the as our friends. It is nice to have such people as you to work for. Bless you all for sticking with us.

Well, I guess you are all wondering why I haven't posted anything for a while.i guess the main reason is, we get so tired up with our work on cars that I just don't take the time to do it. Ok. Here we go. We try so hard to take care of anyone who comes to us with a repair need that we overbook ourselves a lot. We still manage to get them done and gone rather quickly. Many people are surprised when we call and tell them we have their vehicle done. The largest problem we have is part availability. At times it may take several days to get the parts needed for a repair. We are so blessed to have understanding customers who know we do all we can to get their needs taken care of as soon as possible. We take this post to thank each and every one of you for your patience and loyalty.

Another year is upon us and we are so thankful for all our customers, past and present. It is not us that has made us successful but our customers loyalty.. we thank all of you for your support and are proud to be of service to you. We wish all of you a healthy and happy 2019. May God bless you all.

I haven't been here for a while so I decided to give you another bit of information.
We have been having several people ask us,"If they were to buy a new car or pickup, what is the best brand to buy?"
I would like to be able to identify one brand as a better quality but truthfully, all are pretty much the same. Every vehicle has it's problem areas and none of them will be trouble free.
We also have a lot of people calling or asking us if we work on BMW, Volkswagens, Audi and many other makes. The answere to both these questions is pretty much the same. We work on all makes and models of vehicles, foreign and domestic because, as I said, basically they are are similar in how they are built and how they are diagnosed and fixed.
We have little trouble finding parts for any brand vehicle. If our parts houses don't have the parts available, we can always find a dealer willing to get us the parts we need.
Botton line, check with other vehicle owners when looking for that next new car or truck. If they have had much trouble with the vehicle or dealer, they will let you know.

Well, I haven't been here in a while. I guess there has not been anything new to tell you about. However, over the past several years we have been getting customers bringing us vehicles that have been diagnosed by someone else and when we check them out the diagnosis was totally wrong. Some show us estimates from dealerships or other shops that are way over what they should be. I repaired an engine oil leak on a BMW $3000.00 less than the dealers estimate was. A Dodge pickup misfire repair for $300.00 with a dealers estimate of $1900.00. Many A/C repairs over $1200.00 we have done for under $600.00.Don't get me wrong here, I'm not slamming them or trying to get more repair work. I feel the need to tell everyone to ALWAYS get more than one opinion on your vehicles repair costs and diagnosis. Diagnosis has become a lost art I am guessing, because we see so many wrong diagosises and estimates. We do give free down to earth estimates. If you have any questions about what someone is telling you, give us a call and we will try to help you.

Finally got a picture of the good old boys that opened up a repair shop to have something to do when they weren't working on the farm. Yes, that is how we started this business. It was supposed to be a winter time job. After a year or so, we had so much business it required more than a part time commitment. David and I both loved working over cars and making sure that they ran great and at times a little more than stock. We got our inspiration, I guess, from our grandparents bill and ivie Oldham's service station slash convenience store. They taught us to do good work at a fair price and be proud of the quality of work we did. Here lately we have had a lot of our customers fearful that we may retire soon. We tell them we will when we get caught up or run out of work. What that means is, it is not going to be any time soon. We still stay booked two to three weeks ahead. We hope you enjoy the pictures of our grandparents station which was located 10 miles east of Enid on Highway 64.

Here we are, it is August 2016. 40 Years ago this month we opened our doors and began our business of automotive repair. Over those many years we have been given a reputation of honesty, good work and dependability by the thousands of people we have worked for through those years.
Many times a month people will call or come in our shop saying "So and so told us to come here, we would treat them right and were honest".
Why would we have such a reputation as this? Our business has always been more about helping people and doing good work than making a lot of money or building a bigger business.
More businesses need to step back in time and operate for these reasons rather than being in quest of the mighty buck.
Think of it. What would life be like if everyone was proud to do good work and try their best to help people out by doing quality work with a good attitude.
That has made us successful, our care for you as a friend, customer, and fellow human being trying to make it through this life with as little drama as possible.
Try it. Be polite, kind, helpful and considerate of people you deal with and see what kind of reputation you will be given.
As for us. We have always done this, it's what we were taught to do and we are proud of what we have achieved these past 40 years.

I am often so amazed at the cost of automotive repairs that I catch myself apologizing to my customers about the price I have to charge for fixing their vehicles. Then I realize that what I charge for the repair is because of the manufacturers design, not anything I am doing.
I am currently working on replacing a bad camshaft in a 5.3 Liter GM pickup and the job is going to cost over $2000.00 all because of how the engine was designed. Heater core replacements now a days cost close to $1000.00 because the design requires removal of the steering column and dashboard assembly.
I wish the manufacturers would look back 20 to 40 years ago of how the way they were designed. If they went back to that type of design it would cut owners repair cost over 50% on some of these newer vehicles and I wouldn't feel like I needed to apologize for the cost of my customers repair jobs.
I don't think any mechanic or car owner would object.

Closing in on the end of another year brings my thoughts to what has brought us to this many years in business. What have we done differently than the many business' we have watched close.
My conclusion always goes back to how we relate to our customers and have since the day we opened. We love small towns and the people that make them so special. We grew up in a small town where every body knew every body else. Our family helped those in need in the community and when needed, they were there for our family as well.
David and I were raised to respect people, to do our job well and help others in their times of trouble. That is how we have run our business and treated our customers these past 39 years.
We treat our customers as the friends they are to us. If someone needs help, we are willing to help them or to find the help they need. We are blessed to be able to help those in need or down on their luck and we also work with several church's in the area that help people in need.
Like I stated earlier, we love small towns and strive to build our reputation on our honesty, faith and dedication to serve others using the things we have been so blessed with.
Have a great 2016
