🚗 Are You Following Too Closely?
Here's an easy way to find out.
Virginia DMV recommends leaving at least four seconds between you and the vehicle ahead.
Pick a road sign or another fixed object. When the vehicle ahead passes it, start counting.
If you reach the same spot before four seconds have passed, back off and give yourself more room.
And in rain, fog, darkness or other difficult conditions?
Leave even more space.
