We had a ribbon cutting ceremony today for our new fueling equipment. All those in attendance were crucial in finding funding, planning, and executing the project.
It all started with the Fueling MN newsletter and an informational meeting about grants available.
Next was planning the size and scope of what needed to be done with B&H Petroleum. They have been our goto for 30+ years. We were fortunate enough to be selected for both a Federal and a State grant to replace equipment with the ability to sell higher blends of ethanol and biofuels. Then the hard work started with planning the whole project. Funding was taken care of by The First State Bank of Red Wing - Medford Branch. They are a great local bank! The next step was hiring an electric contractor and I knew where to go, Cole's Electric. Quality service from great people. The massive concrete project was handled by Tom Dietz - Dietz Construction. It looks beautiful. Special thank you to the UDSA HBIIP grant and the MN Dept. of Ag AGRI Biofuels grant programs. This would not have happened without your support. Super special shout out to my grant writer Jeff Fischer, you said the right things to grab the reader's attention. The letters of support from Senator John Jasinski, Representative Tom Sexton, Mayor Danny Thomas and City Administrator Beth Jackson, and Mike Collins from the bank helped my chances in getting the grant too.
