Forging ahead on the Volvo 122. Front suspension completely rebuilt, with IPD poly bushings, uprated springs, Bilstein HD shocks, new ball joints and a fatter IPD sway bar.

While the front suspension subframe is off the car for rebuilding, no time better than the present to paint the other side of the engine block. I used Duplicolor caliper paint, which is slightly more "red" than the original Volvo Red Block color. I like the way this paint applied to the block and the way it looks once cured.

The Volvo 122s Rally Car is getting some attention in the form of a new IPD header and a custom Magnaflow exhaust, along with rebuilt carbs. Brakes and clutch are now finally working as they should!

Our 1958 Mercedes 190 Ponton rally car moves on to its next chapter, thanks to a successful auction on Bring a Trailer. We've had good fun prepping this car and running it also. I expect that the new owner will do all of that and perhaps more!.

I’d somehow gone all my life without realizing Mercedes built a rally car out of the R107 Mercedes SL, so when I bumped into one at the Legends of the Autobahn event in Pebble Beach I nearly lost my mind. Rally 500 SL! RALLY 500 SL!
