Until further notice, these are the tech requirements for riding at OSB sanctioned practice days at Mac.
"Allowable Motorcycles by Cylinders and Displacement:
636cc 4 cylinder
675cc 3 cylinder
700cc Twin cylinder
Unlimited Single Cylinder
All vehicles on track must pass a tech inspection. The tech inspector reserves the right to deny access to the track if a vehicle does not meet the requirements. In general, all hard parts that could gouge the track should be protected with a slider made of a plastic material. Gas and an oil is harmful to the track surface and should be retained. All riders should exert their best effort to preserve our right to ride at Mac Track by properly preparing their motorcycle. If you are uncertain under which classification your motorcycle falls, please contact an OSB representative.
The following are required for all motorcycles (and scooters where applicable):
No fluid leaks of any kind
Tires in good condition
Throttle, clutch, and brake controls return at all bar positions
Drive chain in good condition, properly tensioned, and properly lubricated
Oil drain plug tight
Street: a factory street-legal motorcycle generally classified as a sport or standard. Common examples: Grom, Ninja 250, Ninja 300, Yamaha R3, KTM 390 Duke or RC390, Suzuki SV650, etc. Motorcycles classified as Street generally have full or partial fairings and OEM fluid retention systems.
The following are specifically required for a Street motorcycle:
Mirrors removed or taped over
May utilize glycol (green) coolant if and only if the factory coolant recovery system is entirely intact.
Supermoto: a dirt bike-style motorcycle for supermoto use, such as KTM 450 SMR, Yamaha YZ450F, Husqvarna FS450, etc. Or a factory street-legal supermoto-style motorcycle, such as Husqvarna 701, Yamaha WR250X, etc.
The following are specifically required for a Supermoto motorcycle:
No glycol (green) coolant in system (unless motorcycle is factory street legal). Water Wetter is the only acceptable cooling additive.
Radiator and carburetor overflow lines routed to a catch container
Peg sliders installed solidly
Front and rear axle sliders installed solidly
The following are recommended for Supermoto motorcycles::
Handlebar sliders or bark-busters
Safety wire oil drain plug
Mini-moto: a small displacement/small frame motorcycle. Common examples: XR100, DRZ125L, YZ85, NSR50, NSF100R, Kayo MR125. Mini-moto bikes are to be teched the same as their full size counterparts. (For example; if you have a YZ85 prepared with 12” wheels, it is subject to supermoto tech requirements. If you have a Kayo MR125 or a Honda NSF100R, it is subject to the tech rules for a street bike.)
Scooter: Also includes mopeds. Includes step-through style scooters, generally with centrifugal clutches and rear-mounted engines. Scooters should be prepared for track use in a workmanlike manner according to the requirements above.
Mini-moto: a small displacement/small frame motorcycle. Common examples: XR100, DRZ125L, YZ85, NSR50, NSF100R, Kayo MR125. Mini-moto bikes are to be teched the same as their full size counterparts. (For example; if you have a YZ85 prepared with 12” wheels, it is subject to supermoto tech requirements. If you have a Kayo MR125 or a Honda NSF100R, it is subject to the tech rules for a street bike.)
Gear:
Guideline: Wear gear in which you feel comfortable sliding across pavement at 60+ mph, or sustaining a fall, or impact of a sliding motorcycle.
Requirements:
Full coverage - no bare skin showing
Full face or motocross style helmet (no half shells, brain buckets, etc)
Boots that cover the ankle
Gloves must cover hand fully
Recommended:
One or two-piece leather suit
Textile motorcycle apparel acceptable
Full-gauntlet gloves with dual closures
Spine protector, chest protector"
