One of the biggest mistakes in car shopping can happen before you ever step onto a dealership lot.
You pick the answer before you've clearly defined the problem. "I need a RAV4." "I need a Telluride." "I need a Palisade." Maybe. But first, tell me what you're asking the car to do.
Seventy-mile commute? Three kids? Parents who need to get in and out easily? Keeping it ten years? Need real cargo space? Have a hard budget ceiling?
Start with three things. Your must-haves. Your budget. Your primary use. Then find the vehicles that solve those problems.
Don't start with the badge. Start with the job.
Send me those three things and I'll tell you where I'd start looking.
