MAC’s find of the week!

Our customer complaint stated his window would not operate, and door locks were going haywire. He replaced the window switch and window motor and still had no operation.

After scanning the BCM for codes, we found loss of communication on LIN bus and short to ground codes.

I removed the door panel and B pillar trims to inspect ground wires at the B pillar. No issues were found from the B pillar to the door harness.

Using a power probe, multimeter and the wiring schematic, I found no power at the window motor connector.

We checked fuses and found no issues. I disconnected the door harness to check pins for continuity between the window motor and door harness. That’s when I found the corrosion!

The door harness connector had signs of water intrusion. We recommend a new door harness and connector for the interior harness.

After replacement of both, all functionality returned! 😎

This 2019 Ford Edge ST Needed a new active Grill shutter and both front fender liners replaced! What else to do except remove the front Bumper and get it done! MAC Mobile was even able to get the adaptive cruise control front radar calibrated!
