The smell hit you before the counter did.

Rubber belts, motor oil, cardboard boxes, and that faint dusty smell from shelves that had been full since before anyone thought to call it “inventory.”

There was always a counterman who looked like he had been born there.

You would walk in holding some greasy little part in your hand, already knowing you had no idea what it was called.

You’d say something helpful like, “It goes near the thing that rattles when I turn left,” and somehow he would nod like that made perfect sense.

Then came the books.

Huge paper catalogs with pages thin as a church bulletin, full of numbers, diagrams, and tiny print nobody else could read without getting a headache.

He’d flip through them with one finger, pause for half a second, then disappear into the back like he knew exactly which shelf had been waiting for you since 1978.

No computer.

No “let me check with my manager.”

No staring at a screen while you stood there holding your broken piece of mystery metal.

Just a man, a pencil behind his ear, and forty years of knowing what people meant when they didn’t know how to say it.

And half the time, he’d even tell you how to put it on so you didn’t come back and make it worse. 😂

That was the difference.

Some places sold parts.

Those old counters sold know-how.

Hands on learning back in the day. Better than any technology could ever teach you.

Gooooood morning yall !
Wanted to hop on here to say that due to the heat 🔥 this week, we will be trying to do all of our service calls during the early morning. Our plans are to stay inside as much as possible and tend to our shop work. Y’all stay safe out there !!
Also, we will be closed on Friday the 3rd to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday with our family. We will reopen on Monday the 6th…. Everyone have a good one !!!!!

When your parts are delivered to an address in New Johnsonville what do you do - road trip. Nice man called us to let us know he had them. Even offered to bring them to us. Honest man. Thank you Sir !

All of us here would like to send our condolences to the family of Mandy Sullivan. For many years, she and Chad raced side by side. I never met anyone who didn’t like to race her. She was a special lady to so very many people. If you had the pleasure of meeting her- you had the pleasure of loving her.
Mandy - Your race is over sweet lady and you’ve crossed that finish line. Rest in peace ….. And thank you for the years .
