Twenty-five years ago today, our nation was forever changed.
On September 11, 2001, nearly 3,000 lives were lost, countless families were changed forever, and first responders ran toward unimaginable danger while others desperately tried to escape it. Some of our very own migration technicians answered the call that day.
Today, we remember those who never made it home. We honor the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, paramedics, members of our military, and ordinary citizens who demonstrated extraordinary courage. We also remember the thousands of survivors and responders who have carried the physical and emotional effects of that day throughout the past 25 years.
May we never forget the lives that were lost, the heroes who answered the call, and the remarkable way Americans came together in the days that followed.
September 11, 2001 — 25 years later, we remember. 🇺🇸
