Just when you think recovery season on the Great Sacandaga Lake is coming to an end, it always seems to bring us one more!

This season, we’ve experienced more submerged vessel recoveries than we have in years past, and it has really shown us just how important this service is on the lake. We’re extremely proud to be the ones there to help when people find themselves in a situation they never expected.

Our work boat will remain in service until the ice comes, ready to respond when needed. 🌊🚤

If you’re still enjoying the lake this time of year, PLEASE use extreme caution. The water level is extremely low, and almost all of the hazards and channel markers have been removed for the season. Areas that may have been safe and familiar earlier in the year can now be extremely dangerous.

Know the lake, slow down, stay alert, and don’t take chances.

We’re proud to serve the Great Sacandaga Lake community and will be here until the season is truly over. 💪

Thank you to Tri-State Truck & Equipment for adding more emergency lights to our work boat. Emergency lights are a very important thing to have not only on the road but on the water, especially when we are trying to locate a vessel in distress in the dark, it helps significantly with trying to locate a captain of a vessel via phone so they can see us. But big shout out to Andy at tri- state, the quality of work he does when wiring up emergency lights is true art he’s done many light jobs for us, they work with some of the best emergency light companies out there

Last week, Great Sacandaga claimed another boat—but we were able to bring it back.

Our team responded to a challenging recovery where the vessel was taking on water nearly as fast as we could pump it out. With the right equipment, experience, and teamwork, we successfully raised the boat and had it safely back on its trailer just a few hours later.

This recovery is a good reminder for all boaters: the cause of this incident was a failed floor drain. These drains often sit right at or just below the waterline, and if they aren’t functioning properly, it doesn’t take much for a boat to take on water quickly.

Another one in the books for Sacandaga Towing & Recovery 🏁🏁🏁

Yesterday afternoon we got a call from Gavin and his team asking if we could make it happen—transporting his new SuperBoat Y2K from Lake George to the Eastern New Hampshire/Massachusetts border.

Less than 24 hours later, that boat was sitting in his driveway by 10 AM… over 4 hours away.

This is exactly what we do. High-end performance boats aren’t just another job for us—they’re our specialty. And this one hit a little different, because I personally own the exact same boat, but not nearly as cool . Knowing these boats inside and out matters when it comes to safe, professional transport.

We take serious pride in every haul, especially when it comes to equipment like this.

Today we completed another challenging haul for a contractor, transporting an enclosed trailer loaded with spray foam equipment weighing approximately 18,000 pounds up to a new construction site in Chestertown.

This marks the second time we’ve been called to this site — located a significant distance from our home base — trusted to get the job done when others couldn’t.

The final stretch was no easy task — a nearly 2-mile driveway with a steep, demanding incline that stopped others in their tracks. Situations like this require more than just a truck — they demand experience, proper equipment, and the know-how to get the job done safely and efficiently.

There are towing companies… and then there’s us. We take pride in handling the jobs others can’t.
