First, I want to thank God for giving me the strength, ability, and courage to tackle my first-ever Allison 1000 pull and re-installation on my 2004 LB7 Duramax.
I’d also like to thank my family, and a couple of the most solid friends and mentors I have in life and in this industry—Bill Veatch and Hunter Inman. Thank you both for helping make this all come together, leaving me with a flawlessly running truck and accomplishing something I’m truly proud of.
But truthfully, this isn’t just about how well a truck runs. To me, it goes deeper than that. These are memories, lessons, and friendships that I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life—things not everyone is fortunate enough to experience.
Bill Veatch, from Veatch’s Bill Transmission Service, guided and mentored me from start to finish—while also understanding that the best way to learn is to let me figure things out on my own. There isn’t a better man to gain knowledge from. I’ve truly enjoyed the time spent working alongside him, listening as he shares years of experience—not just in mechanics, but in life. Those are lessons I’ll carry with me as I continue to strive to be a better man and will use going forward while building myself up in a profession I care deeply about.
Hunter Inman, from Sicknasty Diesel Performance , came through with some WOT EFI Live tuning for my ECM, installing a 5-position switch, and got a stock file flashed back into my TCM. He’s a busy man, but he always makes sure I’m taken care of. There aren’t many people as solid, honest, and down-to-earth as him. To me, he’s the face of diesel performance and repair here in Kentucky and far beyond that. Someone I’ve looked up to from the start—thank you for always taking care of me, brother.
Lastly, I want to thank the team at Merchant Automotive, LLC for supplying the pump rub kit, transfer case fluid with two new magnetic plugs, and my absolutely flawless built-to-order Maximum Work Series transmission—paired with a billet single-disc torque converter and more. Beyond happy with my decision.
Thank you all for everything. It means more than any of you know.
