We will be set up at the farmers market tomorrow at Lytle Park in
Mattoon. We will have stepping stones, paracord products, and rope baskets. The market is from 9:00 - 11:00 but a lot of people are set up by 7:30. The stepping stones I'm making are great for gardens and landscaping. The shapes and letters are made from plastic that I recycle and I can do custom letters and colors. Come by and check out the market tomorrow, we look forward to seeing you!

We helped a client replace the torsion bars on the back of his car recently. It only took a few minutes on each side and all I needed was my impact wrench and a hammer. A shop wanted $300 to do this. I'm glad we were able to help so he wasn't throwing money away, and now he can safely take his grandmother to the places she needs to go. It's also worth noting that a local lot sold him the car like that and that those torsion bars had been broken for a long time.

We set up at the farmers market yesterday at Lytle Park in Mattoon. We were selling stepping stones, paracord bracelets and other products, and rope baskets. There weren't too many people there but there were enough to keep talking with people all morning. We plan on being there this coming Friday from 7:00 to 11:00 if you want to come by and see us. All of the proceeds from what we sell goes to helping people with their vehicles. We look forward to seeing you!

We've been doing some difficult repairs over the last couple of weeks, I'm glad God has been helping us through them. Now that we have gotten through some of the more involved repairs we can concentrate on catching up the rest of our backlog list.

We have an idea for trying to find more donated vehicles but we really need to create a portfolio. Is there anyone who can help us do this? If you know how to do this and would like to help, please contact us, thank you!

This is what occupied us for the last few days.
This is also what no maintenance looks like. She got the rear brakes totally replaced in another state 2 years ago, they look like they worked for a little bit but soon after they stopped working, then at some point one of the rear calipers started leaking.

All of the pads were stuck in place and over time the brakes worked less and less until it lost enough fluid and the pedal went to the floor.. she drives the van very little so she didn't notice the brakes were gradually diminishing. The last picture is what they are supposed to look like. They also work freely with no jammed pads so they should work well for a long time. I'm glad we were able to help her and now the van is safe to drive!

I came across a problem that unfortunately happens way too often around here. Our client knew she needed an alignment before she goes on a long trip. The shop she took it to told her that several parts needed to be replaced before they would do the alignment. Since her car was a 2017 she didn't think that sounded right.

When I looked at it, all of the parts the shop wanted to replace looked good. All of the bushings looked great and nothing was broken. I sent her to a place that I trust to double check my findings. They said that I was right and they got her alignment done. Now she is good to go and she saved at least $600!

I would love to find another shop that is trustworthy and treated people fairly. Right now there are a few places I deal with but we need more. We need places that think more about people and less about money. If places would do that I think they would have more business than they could handle.

We recently gave this car to a client! She had been without a car for quite a while and really needed one to get to her doctors appointments and to support her son. We had to do several things to catch up the maintenance so hopefully it will last for quite a while. Thanks so much to the church that donated this vehicle!

We've been pretty busy lately with car repairs! We've also been coming across several cars that were not inspected before they were purchased. As a result, most of them that We've looked at turned out to have many problems that usually cost much more to fix than what they paid for them. Unfortunately, one of the cars that we looked at was too dangerous to even be on the road and had to be taken to the scrap yard.
Even if you have to pay for it, it's well worth it to have a mechanic inspect a vehicle before you buy it! If you wait until after you buy it to have it looked at, you're too late. There are many cars that if I looked at them before they were purchased, I would have told them to walk away from it as fast as they can. Also, if a seller won't let you have a car inspected then walk away, you don't want to have a problem later.

Here's the view at our shop right now. The police blocked off the street a little bit ago after I told them I watched a car drive through several front yards to get around the water. This street hasn't flooded like this in 5 or 6 years after the city fixed the drainage.
