Thought he was in the clear… then his 2021 Suburban High Country gave up at just over 86k miles while climbing toward Flagstaff.

What makes it worse? It already passed the recall inspection about 4,000 miles ago back in February. The SUV died right as he crested the hill and had to be dragged home 180 miles by his old Square Body Chevy — thankfully the old truck made it without breaking down too!

Dealer says the repair should be covered, but after this experience he’s already talking about replacing it when he gets it back.

This is why every engineer should be a mechanic first. One simple drain plug is placed so the oil runs onto a crossmember instead of into the pan. It may look fine on paper, but in real life it means oil down your arm and a simple oil change turning into a mess. When you have actually worked under a truck, you start thinking about access, clearance, and how it will be serviced. The best designs come from people who have dealt with it firsthand.

Forged carbon fiber rods are the future!
Over 50% lighter than steel rods and none of the fatigue! Pressed in pin bore bushings and linings for the bearings! These will be the secret to big power and huge RPM never seen before

Carbon fiber connecting rods are exactly the kind of idea that makes old-school engine guys panic, because deep down they know lighter parts change everything. Less reciprocating weight means the engine can rev faster, respond quicker, and put less stress into the crank, bearings, and block at high rpm, but people still act like if a rod isn’t a chunk of metal from 1998 it must be junk.
