I just stopped at the gas station and normally I don't pay attention to the price but it kind of yelled at me look at me look at me in WoW.
I am glad I am driving a Prius.

Lately more and more head gasket failures have been coming to the shop with low mile 3rd generation Prius (2010-2015).
It's kind of strange.
And pretty much all of them have 1 thing that gets our attention, engine water pump.
All of the low mile ones with a head gasket problem had a failed or underperforming water pumps.
So the age is getting pumps also.

And this year has been a record year with the ABS internal leaks 1093 or whatever the code is abnormal leak.
I would say 85-90% of them had very or low rear pads. Which always was the one of the reasons of ABS failure. Wearing down rear pads too low and often causing the brake cylinders and calipers to leak or fail.

Summer is coming so please check your coolant.
We barely had a few hot days and we already saw quite a bit of overheating engines especially of course their generation 2010 to 2015 Prius's.
If you want to keep your Prius running through the summer please check your cooling system, air filter and spark plugs.
Hopefully we're going to have a beautiful summer not too hot and air to breathe.

Lately for some reason we have been lots of visits owners having problems with the coolant disappearing.
They have to constantly add coolant but they can't see it leaking.
Coolant is important for the engine cooling summer time and for the heat inside winter time.
So it is always important.

2010-2015 Prius owners.
If you want to keep your engine alive and prevent it from failing we recommend replacing a water pump at the beginning of every summer. The cost is not too high but it will save you money by preventing the engine from failing.

EGR. It also contributes to failure of this engines. We recommend getting cleaned or replaced to keep your engine running cooler and cleaner.

Spark plugs. Replace if everything 25,000 miles with a good quality spark plugs. They are not that expensive but they will keep your engine running smoother and keep your cylinders cleaner.

Prius. And most importantly Prius is not a race car. Do you want it to last you long time drive it as a Prius and not as a race car.

Pretty harsh summer we are having so far so maintain the proper coolant levels and of course the engine oil.
We're getting lots of cars towed to us that don't need to be towed.
Low coolant Level of the hybrid system cooling will set that triangle on so if it is low top it off and it should automatically go out and hopefully that is it.
